Money Makers & Heart Breakers (Fantasy Football 2021 – Week 12)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know most of you are thinking about eating turkey and pie, but I will be thinking about all that I am thankful for. I am thankful for so much it would be sappy for me to write it all here because I have truly been blessed in life and I think we know life likes to throw crap at us all relentlessly. It’s how we deal with that crap that makes us who we are.

I would like those of you reading to take a moment, just a small amount of time, and think of something you are thankful for. It could be the person who didn’t let the door slam in your face today or the person that was nice to you when no one else was. It could be your family, your job, opportunities you have had, anything at all. Just take one small moment and realize just how lucky you are to be alive and be thankful.

Thank you for reading Money Makers and Heartbreakers. I am truly am thankful that you do.

💰 Money Makers

Quarterbacks

Tom Brady

In Week 12 the Buccaneers play the Colts. The Colts give up the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Quarterbacks average 260 yards and 2 touchdowns per week against the Colts. Brady averages the most points per week out of quarterbacks in the main slate. I know you don’t need me to tell you to play him but play him.

Cam Newton

Guess who’s back, looks who’s back, Newtons back, back again. Newton came back to the Panthers and back to fantasy relevance immediately last week against the Washington Football Team. Newton had 189 yards and 2 touchdowns passing and another 46 yards and a touchdown rushing. In Week 12 he gets the Dolphins who give up the 7th most fantasy points to quarterbacks. I was skeptical last week, I was wrong, I like Newton this week.

Jimmy Garoppolo

It’s now four games in a row that Jimmy G has thrown for 300 yards and/or multiple touchdowns. In Week 12 he gets the Vikings defense that gives up 270 yards and a touchdown per week to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. Funny this is almost exactly what I wrote last week about Jimmy. The Vikings give up the 6th most fantasy points to quarterbacks, so I like him again this week.

Running Backs

James Robinson

The Jaguars play the Falcons in Week 12. The Falcons give up 96 yards and a touchdown weekly to opposing teams running backs. But that’s not all, they also give up 6 receptions and 50 yards on average to running backs as well. The Falcons provide double-digit fantasy points galore to running backs. Yay, James Robinson.

$7,600 on Fanduel

Melvin Gordon

The Chargers give up 5th most points to running backs in fantasy.  Meanwhile, Gordon has scored touchdowns in three straight weeks. This looks like it will be week number 4. The Chargers give up 120 yards and a touchdown on the ground each week. Gordon and Javonte Williams should get lots of usage piling up yards in Week 12

$4,700 on DraftKings
$6,300 on Fanduel

Miles Sanders

Sanders came back from his injury in Week 11 and rushed for 94 yards on 16 carries. That is an average of 5.8 yards per carry if you were slow with the math. In Week 12 the Eagles play the Giants. The Giants give up yards on the ground (105 per week) and through the air (53 per week) to running backs. Sanders looks like someone you want to play in Week 12

Wide Receivers

Elijah Moore

Moore has 4 straight weeks of double-digit fantasy scores. The Jets will play the Texans in Week 12. The Texans give up the 9th most points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. The Texans give up double-digit fantasy scores to wide receivers on a weekly basis. Moore, Moore, Moore how do you like it, how do you like it. This is what you will be singing in Week 12.

DJ Moore

Cam Newton returns to the Dolphins and DJ Moore returned to fantasy relevance. He had 5 receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown last week against the Washington Football Team. This week it gets even easier with Miami and their second friendliest defense to wide receivers. Give me MOORE!

$7,100 on DraftKings
$6,700 on Fanduel

Deebo Samuel

You know Deebo has been really good this season. He catches footballs, he runs with footballs, he scores touchdowns. The Vikings give up the third-most fantasy points to wide receivers. The Vikings give up 14 receptions for 195 yards and a touchdown a week to wide receivers. Deebo will do a little of this and a little of that.

Tight Ends

Evan Engram

The Eagles suck against tight ends. Last week Adam Trautman got them for 58 yards and a touchdown. They are the worst team against tight ends in the NFL. Engram will bounce back from his 12 yard game against the Buccaneers. Engram has touchdowns in two of the last three games. Let’s look to make it three out of four.

$3,800 on DraftKings
$5,500 on Fanduel

Noah Fant

The Broncos play the Chargers in Week 12. The Chargers have given up 9 touchdowns to tight ends this season. Fant is involved in the passing game for the Broncos. Fant is second on the team in targets and receptions on the season. Week 12 should be a good week for Fant.

$4,600 on DraftKings
$5,900 on Fanduel

Rob Gronkowski

If you couldn’t tell by now I like the Tampa passing game against the Colts in Week 12. The Colts give up an average of 6 receptions and 63 yards to tight ends. Gronk came back from his injury in Week 11 and had an immediate impact seeing 8 targets which he turned into 6 receptions for 71 yards.

💔 Heart Breakers

Quarterbacks

Ryan Tannehill

The Patriots are up in Week 12. The Patriots give up the second least points to quarterbacks in fantasy. Titans’ wide receivers and offensive skill players seem to be getting hurt every single week. No one to throw to, tough defense, I don’t like Tanny this week.

Tua Tagovailoa

The Dolphins play the Panthers in Week 12. The Panthers don’t give up a lot to quarterbacks as they rank third against quarterbacks in fantasy. They are very unkind. Tua will probably have a decent day but I am avoiding him in DFS.

Justin Herbert

The Chargers play the Broncos in Week 12. The Broncos have given up two touchdowns to quarterbacks each of the last two weeks. But neither of those quarterbacks topped 20 points in fantasy. Only twice this season has the Broncos given up over 20 points twice this season. Nevermore than 21 points. Out on Herbert in DFS this week.

Running Backs

Leonard Fournette

Did you know that the Colts give up the fewest points to running backs in fantasy? They have only given up 3 touchdowns rushing on the season and only two running backs have been receiving touchdowns against them as well. It doesn’t look good for Lenny scoring this week.

Austin Ekeler

Ekeler is awesome. He had 4 total touchdowns in Week 11. That was last week. Week 12 is this week. The Broncos and their real-world good defense are on deck. I know you are playing him in season long. I know he is an amazing player. Amaze me a little more and don’t play him in DFS.

Damien Harris

The Titans have given up one 100-yard rushing game to a running back this season. That’s right only once has a running back rushed for over 100 yards against them. It is not a great match-up this week for the Patriots running game. It’s a no-no for Harris in Week 12.

Wide Receivers

Jerry Jeudy

The Broncos play against the Chargers and their second-best defense against wide receivers in Week 12. Jeudy has been getting a nice piece of the target share and producing steady numbers so far for the Broncos but in Week 12 he is an avoid in DFS. Out on Jeudy and Sutton here.

Jaylen Waddle

We know the Panthers’ defense is good against the pass. They give up only 130 yards per week to wide receivers. Only 3 wide receivers have broken the 100-yard barrier against this team. Waddle is going to be a star in this league but not in Week 12.

Diontae Johnson

The Bengals have only given up one game of over 100 yards this season to a wide receiver and that was Devante Adams. Chase Claypool had 96 yards against them in Week 3. We know the volume will be there in targets for Johnson, but this looks like a Claypool week to me.

Tight Ends

George Kittle

Kittle is back. Kittle is one of the best tight ends in fantasy again. Everyone loves George Kittle. EVERYONE! But in Week 13 he plays against a Vikings defense that gives up the fourth-fewest points to tight ends in fantasy. He is someone I know you are playing in season long, but in DFS at his high price, there are just so many better options this week.

Hunter Henry

The Titans have only given up three passing touchdowns to tight ends this season. They are a top 10 defense against the position. If there is one thing I can say about the Patriots’ passing game it is that Mac Jones will pick apart the defense at its weak points. This week that is defending wide receivers. Expect a so-so game from Henry.
