The Stream Option (Fantasy Football 2020 – Week 5)

The Stream Option is a weekly article where The Undroppables explore the best options at Quarterback, Defense, and Tight End that should be available in most leagues.
*Note: ESPN rostership rates were gathered on 10/6/2020 and may have changed.

Quarterbacks

Teddy Bridgewater – CAR @ ATL

Teddy Bridgewater is currently the QB18 and is coming off a 26.24 point performance against the Cardinals in Week 4. In Week 5, Bridgewater will see another advantageous matchup against an Atlanta defense that has given up the most fantasy points to QBs this season. In addition, the Carolina offense has shown that they can pass the ball with the eighth-most passing yards per game in the NFL. If Bridgewater can reach the end zone more consistently, he can be a terrific fantasy QB for the rest of the season.

Kirk Cousins – MIN @ SEA

Kirk Cousins has had a very up-and-down season for the purple and gold this year, posting scores of 21.76, -1.48, 19.44, and 14.9. However, on Sunday he’ll face a Seahawks defense that is currently allowing a league-worst 401 passing yards per game. With Adam Thielen showing he is still an elite wideout and Justin Jefferson bursting onto the scene as of late, Cousins has a strong WR corps to get the ball to. While Cousins isn’t a very appealing option, he has a good matchup on Sunday and is only rostered in 19.6% of ESPN leagues.

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron – PIT vs PHI

While the Steelers didn’t play in Week 4 due to COVID, Ebron is coming off his best performance of the season in Week 3 where he posted 16.2 fantasy points. Meanwhile, the Steelers’ next opponent, the Eagles, allowed one of the best TE games ever seen last Sunday night against George Kittle. While Kittle is obviously superhuman, the Eagles woes against Tight Ends haven’t only been seen against him, as they allowed a TD to Logan Thomas in Week 1 and 3 scores to Tyler Higbee in Week 2. Eric Ebron is only rostered in 33.2% of ESPN leagues and should have a strong opportunity for a great week in Week 5.

Ian Thomas – CAR @ ATL

The Atlanta Falcons currently rank as the worst defense in the NFL against the tight end position in fantasy and have given up solid performances to Greg Olsen, Dalton Schultz, Jimmy Graham, and Robert Tonyan. Meanwhile, Ian Thomas has failed to produce the breakout season some expected after Greg Olsen left Carolina for Seattle. However, Atlanta has been ludicrously poor against the Tight End position and if Thomas is going to succeed, it’s going to be in this game. Thomas doesn’t inspire confidence, but his 1.3% rostership rate on ESPN means he should be available as a last-ditch option for those with TE injury woes.

Defenses

Rams D/ST – LAR @ WAS

I recommended the Rams defense last week against the Giants and they finished as the 3rd best defense last week. While the Rams gained 72.6% rostership in advance of last week’s matchup and likely are no longer available, if you picked them up last week, roll them out again this week against a struggling Washington team.

Cardinals D/ST – ARI @ NYJ

With Sam Darnold likely out, the Jets will be starting Joe Flacco, coming off injury, in Week 5. Meanwhile, the rest of the Jets offense has been banged up early and often in this season, and while Le’Veon Bell should be available in this matchup, the Jets offense is still going to struggle mightily. Meanwhile, the Cardinals haven’t been more than a middle-of-the-road defense in 2020, but with a matchup as good as this one, any defense could succeed. The Cardinals are rostered in 52.9% of ESPN leagues.

Other Options: Chiefs D/ST vs LV (33.7% rostership) & Broncos D/ST @ NE IF CAM IS OUT (76% rostership)

UNtangling the Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football 2020 – Week 5)

Somehow we made it to Week 4.  2020 is actually making me wonder how we have made it to this point.  I mean, Cam Newton is a confirmed COVID-19 case, and so is the President of the United States of America.  Yet here we are, and as bad as COVID-19 has been, the injury bug has been worse for the NFL.

Nick Chubb and Austin Ekeler in Week 4: OUCH!  Like such a big-ass OUCH.  It feels like I was walking across the living room in the middle of the night and I stepped on a LEGO.  If you have kids, you know exactly what I mean. It’s 2 AM, and all you want is to eat the leftover buffalo chicken wings. You slowly and silently walk to the fridge, step on that LEGO, try not scream, hop on one leg, and press on to those chicken wings.  Well, here at The Undroppables, we want to help you make it to those damn wings.

NOTE: This column refers to players rostered in under 50% of Yahoo leagues.

Quarterbacks

Teddy Bridgewater – 23% Rostered in Yahoo. 9% Rostered in ESPN. In Week 4, Bridgewater threw for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 32 yards and 1 touchdown.  In Week 5, the Panthers welcome the #1 defense in giving up fantasy points to quarterbacks. Hello Falcons!  The Falcons haven’t seen a lead they didn’t want to give up since the infamous 28-3 Super Bowl thing.  If you need help at QB in Week 5 see Teddy, Teddy will help.

Justin Herbert – 16% rostered in Yahoo. 11% rostered in ESPN. Herbert threw for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Buccaneers in Week 4.  He gets the Saints in Week 5.  The Saints have given up 11 touchdowns in 4 weeks to the passing attack of their opponents.  You can expect another multi-touchdown game against the Saints in Week 5.

Other Quarterbacks to consider: Gardner Minshew and Derek Carr.

Running Backs

Joshua Kelley – Rostered in 55% of Yahoo leagues and 56% of ESPN leagues.  He is not available in any of the leagues I play in.  He also didn’t have a stellar Week 4, with 7 yards rushing and 3 receptions for 26 yards receiving.  But with Austin Ekeler looking like he is done for most of the season, Kelley and Justin Jackson are both adds if available in your league.

Chase Edmonds – Rostered in 35% of Yahoo leagues and 25% of ESPN leagues, Edmonds is probably available.  He is also taking over a LARGE portion of the passing work from the Cardinals backfield.  in Week 4, Edmonds had 5 receptions for 24 yards and a touchdown.  With Drake looking like his preseason injury is hindering him, Edmonds could get even more involved.

Damien Harris – Rostered in 30% of Yahoo Leagues and 15% in ESPN.  Harris looked amazing in the preseason and had 14 carries for 94 yards at the time I was writing this article.  He looked REALLY good running the ball against the Chiefs, who are no slouch against the run.  If I lost Ekeler or Chubb, I would definitely consider adding Harris.

Other running backs to consider: D’Ernest Johnson, Travis Homer, and Duke Johnson.

Wide Receivers

Tim Patrick – 2% rostered in Yahoo and less than 1% rostered in ESPN.  Timmy had 4 receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 and followed that up with 6 receptions for 113 yards and a TD in Week 4. Patrick also had a 25% target share of the Broncos passes.

Brandon Aiyuk – This guy right here was someone I had as an add last week as well.  He is rostered in 26% of ESPN Leagues and 57% of Yahoo leagues.  That means either Yahoo users are smarter or more of them read my article and have had the wire UNtangled for them.  Aiyuk had 1 rush for 38 yards and a touchdown and 2 receptions on 5 targets for 28 yards.  They are trying to get him involved in the ‘Niners lineup, and so should you.

Tee Higgins – Another guy that was mentioned here last week as well.  This week Higgins had 7 targets for 4 receptions and 77 yards.  He also had a 20% target share in Week 4.  I have no idea how many weeks in a row you want me to tell you to add these guys, but I know now is the time if you have been sleeping so far.  Get woke, this is not a hoax; Higgins has value.

Other Wide Receivers to consider: Zach Pascal, Laviska Shenault, Cole Beasley, and Christian Kirk.

Tight Ends

Dalton Schultz – Rostered in 52% of Yahoo Leagues and 33% of ESPN leagues.  Schultz has seen 24 targets the past 33 weeks.  in Week 4, Schultz had 4 receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown. He is currently the TE7 on the season.  Schultz was also mentioned here last week as someone you may want to consider adding.  Don’t consider it now, just do it.

Robert Tonyan – 30 % rostered in Yahoo and 7% rostered in ESPN.  Tonyan leads all tight ends in touchdowns, having scored 5 touchdowns in the past three weeks. Last night he had 6 receptions for 98 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Packers do have a bye next week, but it is a good time to stash him on your bench if you are TE needy.

Mo Alie-Cox – Rostered in 32% of Yahoo leagues and 21% of ESPN leagues.  Big Mo didn’t see a lot of targets in Week 4. He only had 1 catch for 13 yards and a touchdown.  He is currently the TE12 in scoring.  If you need a TE and can’t get Schultz and all his targets, it is worth a shot.

Offensive Line Injury Updates | Week 4

0

Our O-Line expert Brad Wire is here to give you the latest updates on injuries for guys in the trenches for you to consider when setting your fantasy football lineups.

Arizona Cardinals

Mason Cole – Questionable (Hamstring) – Cole was able to get some practice and they are hopeful he will start after missing Week 3 and 4. I would bet they stay on the safe side and sit him one more week as Lamont Gaillard has been more than serviceable in Cole’s absence. Either way they have a pretty good matchup this week against the Panthers.

Atlanta Falcons

Kaleb McGary – Questionable (Knee) – McGary has an extra day this week to try to play with their Monday night game with the Packers. He was able to get a limited practice in both Thursday and Friday. Matt Gono was the one who replaced him in Week 2 and started in Week 3 and played okay, but they definitely would prefer McGary. McGary was only expected to miss one week and looks like he has a good chance to start. I would feel more comfortable if he were able to get any full practice in, but at least he was able to get some work in this week.

Baltimore Ravens

Ronnie Stanley – Questionable (Shoulder) – Stanley was unable to practice Thursday or Friday this week as he continues to battle a shoulder injury. He has been dinged up quite a bit to start the season after dealing with ankle and hip injuries already, but he has played 100% of the snaps in both of the Ravens last two games. It seems this is more precautionary as the Ravens did not promote anyone from the practice squad for additional depth.

Carolina Panthers

Dennis Daley – Questionable (Ankle); Russell Okung – Questionable (Groin) – Both Okung and Daley were able to get some limited practices in this week. Okung seemed like he was going to play last week, but ended up being a late scratch. Matt Rhule expects Okung to be full go this week against the Cardinals. Daley on the other hand still seems like a long shot to go. Michael Schofield had replaced Daley for the first two weeks of the season, but it was Chris Reed who started Week 3 after coming off the COVID list. Reed told his story about his battle with COVID and being isolated from his pregnant Wife. His story along with many others are the reason the Panthers were able to pull out a win last week. Stories like this will shine a little brighter on this dull season.

Cleveland Browns

Joel Bitonio – Questionable (Back) – The expectation is that Bitonio will play Sunday against the Cowboys. He has not missed a snap since 2016 and I don’t expect him to in Week 4. This matchup on the ground is a really good one for the Browns. As long as they can keep it close both Chubb and Hunt should produce heavily.

Dallas Cowboys

Tyron Smith – Questionable (Neck) – After missing Week 2 and Week 3 it seems Smith is on track to play. McCarthy has said that Smith has done everything he has needed to do in order to play this week. Brandon Knight started in Smith’s place and could very well bump over to take over for Terence Steele at right tackle. That decision will likely be made at game time. Unfortunately, the decision for La’el Collins has already been made. He will be having season ending hip surgery.

Green Bay Packers

Corey Linsley – Questionable (Groin); Elgton Jenkins – Questionable (Back/Rib) – Jenkins is the only Packers lineman who has played 100% of the snaps this year. This is impressive given the state of this group. Sure, Linsley and Bakhtiari only missed snaps during garbage time against the Lions, but still impressive nonetheless. This seems like the same situation as Bitonio, I think Jenkins plays Monday and was just given a day to rest. Linsley showed up on the injury report late on Saturday after he was unable to practice. Lucas Patrick would be the one to replace him if he were unable to go on Monday and Jon Runyan would cover his spot at right guard. This Falcons D-Line is underrated and is led by one of the most underrated players in Grady Jarrett. Personally, I am looking forward to this battle and what should be a firework show on Monday Night Football.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Brandon Linder – Out (Knee) – Linder was first injured in the 3rd quarter of their Week 2 matchup against the Titans and has since been replaced by Tyler Shatley. His injury wasn’t in my write up for Week 3 as the Jaguars played on Thursday night. Linder has avoided the IR, but it seems at this point as that would have been the better option.

Las Vegas Raiders

Trent Brown – Doubtful (Calf) – Brown was again unable to practice this week. Sam Young looks to be the one to start this week after being originally replacing Brown in Week 1. This gives them a choice between Denzelle Good and rookie John Simpson. According to PFF John Simpson has not played well, posting a 22.3 pass blocking grade. I have a feeling they will give Simpson the start in Week 4 and see if he has improved.

Los Angeles Chargers

Trai Turner – Out (Groin); Bryan Bulaga – Out (Back); Storm Norton – Questionable (Knee); Tyree St. Louis – Out (Concussion) – *EXHALE* On the Chargers depth chart both Turner and Bulaga are listed as starters. Their backups you ask? Storm Norton and Tyree St. Louis. So who does that leave then? Ryan Groy filled in at guard and Trey Pipkins at tackle. Tampa Bay already has one of the best run defenses and playing against backups to the backups will not help. Shaq Barrett might also live in the backfield this week. Would I be sitting Ekeler? Absolutely not. Am I starting Joshua Kelley? Only if he is your very last available option.

Miami Dolphins

Solomon Kindley – Questionable (Foot) – Kindley turned in a limited practice on Friday with a foot injury. Fellow rookie Robert Hunt would replace him in some form if Kindley were to miss time. They could bump Jesse Davis (RT) inside and Hunt would play tackle.

New England Patriots

Shaq Mason – Questionable (Calf); Isaiah Wynn – Questionable (Calf) – As of right now this game at the very least looks to be delayed, which is good news for both of these guys. Mason and Wynn were only able to get in limited practices this week. I expect both of these guys to play this week if there is still a game.

New Orleans Saints

Andrus Peat – Out (Ankle) – Peat’s injury did not look pretty. He was rolled up on as Kamara got tackled. This is something from lineman nightmares. You never expect it to happen or wish it on anyone, but you know it is almost always a possible outcome. Nick Easton will replace Peat for what I expect to be a few weeks. Easton has looked underwhelming at times as he started the season at right guard with new rookie Cesar Ruiz getting injured during camp. They have a juicy matchup this week against the Lions, but it might be closer than we think with all the injuries. If it does get out of hand, though, this might be a Latavius Murray close out week.

Seattle Seahawks

Damien Lewis – Questionable (Ankle) – Lewis was able to get in a full practice on Friday. Most likely would have drawn the probable tag given the option. I’m not too worried about him this week. This should be a pretty dominant showing on the ground against the Dolphins and it is very possible a combination of Travis Homer and Deejay Dallas get a good chunk of work with Carlos Hyde out.

Washington Football Team

Morgan Moses – Questionable (Hip) – Moses is another one who turned in a full practice on Friday and seemingly would draw the probable tag. He has not missed a snap so far this season and I don’t expect Sunday to be any different.

Notable Players On Short Term Injured Reserve

Xavier Su’a-Filo – Cincinnati Bengals
Cameron Erving – Dallas Cowboys
Elijah Wilkinson – Denver Broncos
Joe Dahl – Detroit Lions
Richie Incognito – Las Vegas Raiders
Joseph Noteboom – Los Angeles Rams
Pat Elflein – Minnesota Vikings
David Andrews – New England Patriots
Isaac Seumalo – Philadelphia Eagles
Jason Peters – Philadelphia Eagles
Brandon Scherff – Washington Football Team

Paulie’s DFS Sleepers | Week 4 (Draft Kings Value GPP Plays)

Hey fam, it’s Week 4 and the Covid scare is threatening the season but we still do have football at the moment, so let’s win some money!

Paulie DFS Week 4

This lineup has my value plays for the week.

Ryan Fitzpatrick – $5,400

#FearTheBeard Fitz is a monster value at this price in a guaranteed passing game script where he faces the swiss chease Seahawks defense that has allowed 30% more passing production to the opposition than the 2nd worst team.

Myles Gaskin – $5,000

I love this kid and you should play him while he is this cheap. He gets the lion’s share of the backfield, doesn’t come off the field on passing downs, and in turn, gets targets in the passing game. (16 targets in 3 games)

Mike Davis – $5,700

Playing at home and should approach 20 touches and has caught 8 balls in consecutive games.

Darrell Henderson – $5,800

Game script heavily favors the run game here and DH has earned his starting role for the moment. 20 touches are a lock.

Hunter Renfrow – $4,600

The raiders are riddled with injuries at the WR position and the Bills might put Tre White on Darren Waller to shut him down. Renfrow balled out with 9 targets last week and I expect this again.

Tee Higgins – $4,500

What might appear like chasing points or touchdowns (two last week) really isn’t as Higgins out-snapped all Bengals WRs last week and got 9 targets.

Brandin Cooks – $4,500

The Texans had a brutal start schedule-wise and now are rewarded with a cush match up. Cooks has broken slates before and when you see a player like that priced this low in a plus matchup, you have to pull the trigger.

T.J. Hockensen – $4,800

One of my favorite young players in the league draws a home match up versus the 32nd ranked defense against TEs. I will have “Hock” in every line up except one with Geseki where I will stack that whole Seattle/Miami game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense – $3,400

I sometimes skip talking about defenses but the Bucs should be priced higher after posting 14 & 18 DK points the last two weeks and now get a team traveling cross country with a rookie QB.

Have fun this week and gamble responsibly!
