Money Makers and Heart Breakers (Fantasy Football 2020 – Week 3)

Money Makers and Heart Breakers Week 3

Week 3 is here, Week 3 is here! I think I might still be reeling from all the injuries in Week 2.  If you follow my UNtangling the Wire article a couple of the names early on here are already familiar to you.  Pick them up plug them in.

If you follow me on Twitter, you will see a longer thread of who is a Money Maker and who will be a Heart Breaker. The beauty of the article is you get to see more of the why someone is more likely to produce or not to produce each week.

Money Maker – I think this player will perform well this week and be better than expectations

Heart Breaker – These players will not have a good week

Quarterbacks

💰 Money Makers

Gardner Minshew – The Dolphins defense has been torched by both Cam Newton and Josh Allen in the first two weeks of the season to the tune of 72% completion rate, as the opposing QBs combined for 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. The Dolphins have 3 sacks and on 7 quarterback hits combined in Weeks 1 and 2. Gardner Minshew is currently the QB9, he is going to feast in Week 3.  Minshew has been spreading the ball around and has thrown for 3 touchdowns in Week 1 and another 3 in Week 2. Minshew Mania is going to run wild on you!

Ryan Tannehill – Who has two top 15 finishes in Weeks 1 and 2 of this season. Ryan Tannehill, that’s who. He just had a four touchdown game last week and is now going up against a Vikings defense that has given up 578 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception in the first two weeks of the season. You can expect Tannehill to continue his tear in Week 3. (Bonus – Tannehill is only $7,400 on FanDuel)

Ryan Fitzpatrick – In Week 2 Fitzmagic threw for 328 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Jaguars are a generous team to quarterbacks. They gave up 363 yards and a touchdown to Philip rivers in Week 1 and followed that up by allowing Ryan Tannehill to throw for 239 yards and 4 touchdowns. There will be some magic in that beard this weekend.

Other quarterbacks I like in week 3:

There is the obvious: Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson

The not so obvious: Mitch Trubisky and Carson Wentz

NOTE: Kyle Larson also mentions some of the above in the Stream Option for Week 3.

💔 Heart Breakers

Deshaun Watson – Deshaun Watson is finding it difficult in the passing game since losing DeAndre Hopkins.  The Houston passing game looked relatively average in the first two weeks. Looking at another average day with about 250 yards and a touchdown. It just feels wrong thinking of Deshaun Watson as mediocre.

Josh Allen – In Week 2, Josh Allen and the Bills passing attack had a great matchup against the Dolphins.  In Week 3, they get the Rams. Yikes. The Rams have yet to give up 300 passing yards to a quarterback this season. In addition, Los Angeles has only given up one passing touchdown. Things get a little more difficult for the Bills passing game so look for the run game to rule for them in Week 3.

Derek Carr – Against the Saints, Carr had 282 yards and three touchdowns. You would think that type of play would make me want him as a money maker. Well, Derek Carr only had one game with 3 touchdowns all of last season. The Patriots are actually very good against the pass and rank as the 11th against quarterbacks this season. Look for Carr to struggle a bit this week.

Others quarterbacks to avoid: Kirk Cousins, Danny Jones, Baker Mayfield, Dwayne Haskins

Running Backs

💰 Money Makers

Dalvin Cook – In Week 3, Dalvin Cook gets to play the Titans defense that is giving up an average of 5.15 yards per carry. Cook is handling 80% of the running back workload for the Vikings and you can expect him to perform at an exceptionally high level in against the Titans defense. Cook has scored in each week so far this season and that will continue in week 3. (Bonus – Dalvin Cook is a bargain at $8,600 on FanDuel)

Austin Ekeler – The touches have been there for Austin Ekeler in the first two weeks and the yards have been as well. But one thing that has been missing is the touchdowns. At least this week Ekeler gets the worst run defense in the entire league, the Carolina Panthers. Look for Ekeler to find the end zone this week as well as pile up yards. (Bonus – Ekeler is a great value at $7,00 on FanDuel)

Joshua Kelley – Ekeler is not the only running back that is producing for the Chargers.  Kelley is averaging 62 yards a week rushing right now and is the goal line back. The one-two punch for the Chargers should both produce good numbers this week against the Panthers. (Bonus – Joshua Kelley is a steal at $5,900 on Fanduel)

Other running backs to play:

The obvious: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Chris Carson, Alvin Kamara, Ezekiel Elliott and Miles Sanders

The not so obvious: Leonard Fournette, Nick Chubb, Mike Davis, and Jerick McKinnon

💔 Heart Breakers

Joe Mixon – Imagine that I have Mixon as a heart breaker.  In Week 3, Mixon runs up against an Eagles defense that is only allowing 3.71 yards per carry. I would be surprised if this is the week that Mixon finally breaks out. My apologies to those who picked him in round two but you can expect more mediocre play from Mixon in Week 3.

David Johnson – It will be tough going for the entire Houston offense in Week 3 against the Steelers defense that is allowing only 18 points per game. The Steelers defense has only allowed 76 yards on the ground this season. Melvin Gordon did get a touchdown last week to give him a good week. Barring a touchdown, it will be tough going for David Johnson this week.

Other running backs that will cost you in Week 3: David Montgomery, Lions Running backs, Patriots running backs

Wide Receivers

💰 Money Makers

Allen Robinson – Averaging 9 targets a game and playing against the Falcons this week.  The Falcons have been absolutely destroyed through the air the first two weeks of the season. The Falcons defense has given up huge games to the Cowboys and Seahawks wide receivers. This is a game where you can look at ARob getting right in a nice match up where he will most likely have 100 yards and/or a touchdown. (Bonus – Allen Robinson is a smash at $6,900 on FanDuel)

Kenny Golladay – Welcome back, Kenny G! Last week Terry McLaurin lit up the Cardinals defense for 7 receptions, 125 yards and a touchdown. The Lions and Matthew Stafford love the downfield passing game. Look for the connection between Golladay and Stafford to take off against Arizona. (Bonus – Kenny Golladay provides nice value at $7,500 on FanDuel)

Marquise Brown – Brown leads the Ravens in targets and air yards and the Chiefs were shredded by Will Fuller for 8 receptions and 112 yards in Week 1 and Keenan Allen had 7 receptions for 96 yards in Week 2. Brown has top 10 upside in Week 3 against the defending champs.

Other wide receivers to play:

The obvious: Adam Thielen, Deandre Hopkins, Cowboys and Seahawks wide receivers

The not so obvious:  – Isaiah Ford, Terry McLaurin and Tre’Quan Smith

💔 Heart Breakers

John Brown – The Bills play the Rams, who have yet to give up 100 yards to a wide receiver or even a touchdown. Brown has started the season hot with a touchdown in each of the first two games, but it gets a little tougher for him this time out.

Robby Anderson – The surprise wide receiver for the Panthers has been Robby Anderson. He has had over 100 yards in each of the first two games. The Chargers have yet to give up 100 yards to a wide receiver this season and average the second lowest yard per reception in the league at 6.0 yards per pass attempt. This is the week Robby Anderson will comes back down to Earth.

Other wide receivers will cost you: Keenan Allen, AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, Eagles wide receivers

Tight Ends Week 15

💰 Money Makers

Mike Gesicki – Last week, Mike Gesicki had 11 targets for 8 receptions, 130 yards and a touchdown against the Bills. He is playing against the Jaguars this week. The Jaguars have struggled to defend the middle of the field. Last week Jonnu Smith and Adam Humphries destroyed the Jags over the middle to a combined total of 9 receptions for 132 yards and 3 touchdowns. Gesicki is going to have one hell of a game this week.

Tyler Higbee – Might look like chasing touchdowns after Tyler Higbee had three in Week 2 but it is not. If you read about Gesicki above then you know that the Bills are currently soft in the middle of the field where tight ends do their thing. Tyler Higbee is a solid play this week  (Bonus – Tyler Higbee is worth a swing at $6,100 on FanDuel)

Jonnu Smith – Last week, Jonnu Smith had 4 receptions for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Next up is a Vikings defense that allowed Mo Allie -Cox to have 5 receptions for 111 yards in Week 2. With A.J. Brown still on the shelf I find it near impossible to sit Jonnu this week.  His floor is probably comparable to what Allie-Cox got in Week 2. Put Jonnu in your line up. (Bonus – Jonnu is a nice value at $5,600 on FanDuel)

Other tight ends to play:

The obvious Mark Andrews, Travis Kelce Zach Ertz and Darren Waller

The not so obvious: Dallas Goedert, Drew Sample, Noah Fant and Logan Thomas

💔 Heart Breakers

T.J. Hockenson – The Cardinals defense has face 2 very good tight ends this season, George Kittle and Logan Thomas, and has only given up a total of 8 receptions and 70 yards in total. Hockenson has been involved in the passing game but the Cardinals are not the team that let tight ends run all over them last season anymore.

Hunter Henry – The Panthers held Daren Waller to 45 yards in week 1 and OJ Howard to 11 yards in Week 2. The Chargers are going to run and run and run.  If you have another option at tight end I would turn to it.

Other tight ends that will cost you: Chris Herndon, Tyler Eifert, and Dalton Schultz

Scott brings on fellow UND team member, Beezy, once again for an episode so good that we had to break it into 2 parts.

First, the guys discuss the rampage of injuries that riddled the NFL in Week 2 and how to take advantage of panic trades, rather than be the panicking manager. Scott & Beezy then go through Scott’s 32 team NFL power rankings and list players that are dynasty relevant on each team. On Part 1 of this two-part series, the guys go through teams 32-17. Tune in or be tuned out!

The Stream Option (Fantasy Football 2020 – Week 3)

The Stream Option is a weekly article where The Undroppables explore the best options at Quarterback, Defense, and Tight End that should be available in most leagues.
*Note: ESPN rostership rates were gathered before the weekly waiver run and have likely changed.

Quarterbacks

Mitchell Trubisky – CHI @ ATL

Trubisky is currently the QB14 with 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions coming into Week 3. Meanwhile, the Atlanta secondary has given up 71.58 fantasy points to Quarterbacks in the first two weeks, and while those two games have come against much more prolific offenses than the Bears (Seahawks and Cowboys), the Falcons still provide a good matchup for young gunslinger Mitch Trubisky. Alongside the defensive matchup, negative game script will also likely help Trubisky, as the Falcons offense can score a lot of points, posting 38 and 39 points in their first two games. Trubisky is only rostered in 14.4% of ESPN leagues.

Gardner Minshew – JAX vs MIA

Minshew has looked the part of a franchise Quarterback in his first two games, posting 6 touchdowns to 2 interceptions as well as 512 yards with a 75.4% completion percentage. These stats place him as the 11th ranked Quarterback in fantasy, yet he is only rostered in 24.9% of ESPN leagues. On the other side of this inter-state matchup, the Dolphins defense has given up the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks in the league. In games against Cam Newton and Josh Allen, the Dolphins have looked inept against the pass even after spending big money on the cornerback position. Keep in mind that Minshew plays on Thursday night and will need to be in your lineup prior to 8:20pm EST on Thursday.

Expect Minshew to have another solid showing in Week 3, and to continue his excellent fantasy season with future matchups against the Bengals, Texans and Lions in the coming weeks before his bye in Week 7. Minshew could be more than a stream option for you!

Ryan Tannehill – TEN @ MIN

I believe that, along with Minshew, Tannehill should be rostered in most leagues, yet Tannehill has only a 40.5% rostership percentage on ESPN. After posting 46.12 fantasy points through his first two games, Tannehill is the ninth ranked QB in fantasy. He plays against a Vikings defense that got torched in Week 1 by Aaron Rodgers, and lacks pass rush with Danielle Hunter on IR. While Tannehill should provide managers a solid outing in Week 3 and a strong season in total, be wary as he faces two outstanding defenses in Pittsburgh and Buffalo Weeks 4 and 5, respectively.

Tight Ends

Logan Thomas – WAS @ CLE

While Thomas let managers down last week against Arizona, he still saw nine targets and a 91% snap share for Washington. His usage is incredibly promising and he should see a solid matchup in Week 3 as Cleveland has allowed the most fantasy points to Tight Ends so far this season. While this is a small sample size, it is easily confirmed by watching the Browns defense. The converted QB is only rostered in 15.9% of ESPN leagues. Thomas should rebound in Week 3 and provide managers with a solid outing as a stream option.

Jack Doyle/Mo Alie-Cox – IND vs NYJ

After Doyle missed Week 3 due to a lower-leg issue, Alie-Cox saw 6 targets, catching 5 of them for 111 yards against the Vikings. Expect veteran QB Philip Rivers to continue to siphon targets to the Tight End position with slot WR Parris Campbell now on IR. If Jack Doyle (rostered in 32.6% of ESPN leagues) is able to have a full practice on Thursday or Friday of this week, expect him to be the main beneficiary of Rivers’ play. If not, Alie-Cox is only rostered in 1.2% of ESPN leagues and another viable stream option.

Defenses

Buccaneers D/ST – TB @ DEN

Only rostered in 50.4% of ESPN leagues, the Tampa Bay defense is currently 8th in fantasy points at the position. With an elite front seven and a budding star in CB Carlton Davis, the Bucs defense is one to be feared. Meanwhile, their matchup in Week 3 is against a very heavily depleted offense, as QB Drew Lock, WR Courtland Sutton, and RB Philip Lindsay are all slated to miss this game for the Broncos. Fill-in Jeff Driskel provides a good opportunity for some interceptions and a solid chance for the Bucs to keep the score low.

Chargers D/ST – LAC vs CAR

The Chargers followed up a 12 point outing against Cincinnati in Week 1 by scoring zero fantasy points against the Chiefs in Week 2. Luckily for them, the Panthers offense has looked more like the Bengals offense than the Chiefs this season. Last week, star pass rushers Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram were constantly forcing pressure against the Chiefs offensive line, but QB Patrick Mahomes put on a clinic on how to work a pocket. Teddy Bridgewater will likely fail to have the same effect. Only rostered in 29% of ESPN leagues, this strong defense should see a strong outing in Week 3.

UNtangling the Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football 2020 – Week 3)

2020 reared its ugly head on NFL Sunday.  Injuries were up all over the place.  I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many injuries to key players so early in the season. But this means there are more targets on the waiver wire this week.

NOTE: This column refers to players rostered in under 50% of Yahoo leagues.

Our medical specialist Adam Hutchison did a great job laying out the injuries in his thread, it’s is a must-read if you want to understand the impact of this week’s injuries.

Quarterbacks

Gardner Minshew – Rostered in 32% of Yahoo leagues.  In Week 2 Minshew threw for 339 yards and then threw 3 touchdowns again.  I have touted him all off season on Twitter with my buddy The Honest Cowboy as he will gladly tell you .  We did this for a reason: Minshew can ball.  Next up is the Miami Dolphins, who were just torched by Josh Allen.

Ryan Tannehill – Rostered in 46% of Yahoo leagues.  Tannehill continues his run since being named the starter after Week 6 of last season.  Tannehill has the Vikings up next, who are second worst against the pass so far this season.  Look for over 250 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tannehill will be a top 10 play again in Week 3.

Other potential adds at quarterback include: Mitchell Trubisky, Derek Carr and Ryan Fitzpatrick

Running Backs

Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman– Rostered in 6% and 11%of Yahoo leagues. With Barkley out for the rest of the season,  Lewis and Gallman will pick up the slack (at least for now).  Gallman was a healthy inactive, which makes me believe that Lewis with his pass catching ability is probably the better add right now.

Mike Davis – Rostered in 6% of Yahoo leagues.  Davis took over for McCaffrey in Week 2 due to McCaffrey’s ankle injury.  It’s a high ankle sprain and will most likely keep him out 4-6 Weeks.  Davis did most of his work in the passing game with 8 receptions for 74 yards.  In PPR, he should help alleviate your roster pain.

Darrel Henderson  – Rostered in 33% of Yahoo leagues. Henderson led the Rams backfield this week, which explains my warning last week in regards to making Brown an addition.  With the Akers injury, Henderson had 81 yards rushing with a touchdown and added 40 yards receiving.  He looks to be back to invest in, at least for now, on the Rams.

Joshua Kelley – Rostered in only 39% of Yahoo leagues. Kelley produced well in Week 2, so if you didn’t consider adding him after he appeared in this column Week 1, maybe you will now.  Kelley tallied up 64 yards rushing and an additional 49 yards receiving.  He’s certainly doing the most with his touches. Next up is Carolina, it just feels like a touchdown or 2 nest week already.

Jerick McKinnon – Rostered in only 24% of Yahoo leagues.  With both Mostert and Coleman out, McKinnon got the work at running back and produced 77 yards and a touchdown (his second of the season).  HE will have the backfield all to himself next week with significant injuries all over the field for the 49ers.  I expect him to produce big in Week 3 against the Giants.

Other potential running backs to add: Myles Gaskin and Devonta Freeman (He is meeting with the Giants on Tuesday)

Wide Receivers

Keelan Cole – Rostered in 3% of Yahoo leagues. Cole has a touchdown in each of the first two weeks.  In Week 2, he had 7 targets for 6 receptions, gaining 58 yards and a TD.  He shared the lead in targets with Chris Conley.

Russell Gage – Rostered in 22% of Yahoo leagues.  Gage followed up his great play from Week 1 with 6 receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown in Week 2.  In Week 2, Julio Jones was the odd man out in the Falcons passing attack, as Gage, Ridley and Hurst all produced numbers.  Something to watch as we move forward.

Cory Davis and Adam Humphries – Rostered in 42% and 2% of Yahoo leagues.  Davis is the primary receiver in Tennessee now; he had 3 receptions for 36 yards and a TD in Week 2 after 101 yards in Week 1.  Humphries had 5 receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown in Week 2, after having 6 receptions for 47 yards in Week 1.  Humphries looks like a solid add for PPR.

Tre’Quan Smith – Rostered in 14% of yahoo leagues.  Smith is picking up where Michael Thomas left off.  Smith finished Monday Night Football with 5 receptions for 86 yards.

Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdez-Scantling – Rostered in 47% and 36% of Yahoo Leagues.   With Adams tweaking his hammy in Week 2, one or both of these wide receivers will pick up the slack.  Both are worthy as additions to have some potential additional volume.

Other wide receivers to consider: Michael Pittman and Mecole Hardman

Tight Ends

Jordan Reed – Rostered in 7% of Yahoo leagues.  As long as Kittle remains out, Jordan Reed will be utilized.  His 7 receptions for 50 yards and 2 touchdowns helps fill the void for the Niners with injuries all over the field.

Logan Thomas – Rostered in just 2% of Yahoo leagues. In Week 1, Thomas was targeted 8 times and produced 4 receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown. Thomas is seeing a high volume of targets for the Washington Football team, (17 total) and is the secondary option in their passing attack. Thomas had 26% target share from Haskins to start the season.

Mo Allie Cox – Rostered in 1% of Yahoo leagues. Week 2 saw Parris Campbell get injured and Jack Doyle was already out.  Allie-Cox stepped in as Rivers’ target to do lots of damage in the passing game, with 6 targets for 5 catches and 111 yards.  Big Mo produced in the pinch.

Other tight ends to consider: Dalton Schultz, Jordan Akins, and Drew Sample

Defense

Colts – Rostered in 41% of Yahoo leagues.  The Colts defense had 3 sacks and 3 interceptions against the Vikings in Week 2.  Next up is the Jets, who have one of the most pathetic offenses in the league right now.

Remember to check out Kyle Larson’s Stream Option for Week 3 for a more in-depth look at defenses to stream.

Paulie’s DFS Sleepers | Week 2

0

Week 2 is here, fam let’s try to “break a slate”! We have cash advice this week as well so if you are here for cash, scroll down.

First, I would like to review Week 1 for accountability:

Chris Herndon scored 9.3 points last week, which was good for 3x value. That made Herndon a good cash play, but not for tournaments. I’m off Herndon for this week as he is the only player the 49ers need to shut down and Fred Warner is one of the best cover LBs in the league.

Jack Doyle got hurt last week and most assuredly would have hit for a decent play but those are the breaks, no pun intended.

T.J. Hockensen was my best TE value play last week hitting 16.6 Draft Kings points for 4x value.

Antonio Gibson didn’t get the goal line touches so he was a bad play last week. He will eventually get it together.

Boston Scott got hurt but he wasn’t trending towards a good game. This was my fault for not recognizing how bad the Eagles offensive line is.

Marlon Mack… RIP to my Colt. It appears his career may be done. This would have been a smash play, he was cheaper than Jonathan Taylor and it didn’t look like JT was going to get much work at all. Everyone played JT, making the Mack play an excellent process, bad result.

Raheem Mostert was underpriced, not very many people played him, and he SMASHED. He won me some money.

Chris Conley was hyped by all the camp and beat writer reports saying that he was the WR2 over Keenan Cole, but Cole out-snapped Conley and should have been the play. Week 1 can be tough, especially when depth charts LIE.

Jamison Crowder was another low owned play in tournaments and he absolutely crushed this slate and won me a few bucks. Crowder has now owned the Bills in their last 3 meetings, remember that later this year.

DeSean Jackson was #2 in air yards last week so a slate breaking potential was there, especially priced at $3900.

Kendrick Bourne had great red zone usage (which I loved) and he got a great target in the end zone late in the game that he couldn’t come down with. If he makes that catch, he makes value and then some.

With quarterbacks, I took some low priced risks to afford to pay up at other positions and two out of three paid off. Mitchell Trubisky and Gardner Minshew were both great plays, while Tyrod Taylor definitely was not (he was SO cheap I couldn’t help myself).

OK, on to Week 2:

To win a GPP tournament in Draft Kings, it has become more and more apparent as the years go on that you have to have a nice “stack” where you pair a QB with one or two of his targets and “run it back” with a player or two on another team. You can completely stack players from one game but this rarely works (when it does you can hit big so I suggest trying it every once and awhile). I suggested some stacks last week and they were hit and miss like all of this is (winning a daily tourney is like hitting lightning in a bottle) but I missed the stack that won the millionaire maker. This stack ALSO got 2nd place for $250k AND 3rd for $100k! They all had Aaron Rodgers with Davante Adams, Alan Lazard, and ran it back with Adam Thielen. They also all had Josh Jacobs and Calvin Ridley. I haven’t heard any of the “shark” expert DFS guys talk about this at all and I think it’s because this stack is a play again and they want it for themselves! We are going to make one tweak to it though.

Running Back

Nyheim Hines – $5,300
Honestly, I was skeptical that Hines would be the new Austin Ekeler but he clearly is and his opportunity is through the roof with Mack going down.  He caught all 8 of his targets and got work running between tackles as well and looked damn good.  It is VERY important to note that he was schemed to get the ball before Mack went down and most of his passing work were not “check downs” they were designed plays.  Hines is a lock for 15+ touches going forward.

Jonathan Taylor – $5,700
I can’t say enough about the most productive back in NCAA history and the highest graded RB on ProFootballFocus.com since they started grading.  Taylor caught all 6 of his targets and is a lock for 18+ overall touches.

Ronald Jones – $5,200
This pricing is silly as RoJo got 19 touches last week and looked good against a stout Saints defense.  Today he gets a historically bad defense in the Panthers and Tom could lean on the run more with Godwin likely out.  Fournette is not ready with 14 days of the playbook underneath his belt.

Chase Edmonds – $4,600
This is a riskier play but Edmonds got more passing work than Drake last week and made the most out of his 9 touches. This Washington front is no joke and I see an uptick in his targets this week with 13-15 expected touches.  If he scores again, he will hit and I don’t see many people playing him.

Benny Snell – $4,500
People won’t play him because Conner is back but I have zero faith in James Conner and Ian Rappaport reports this morning that he and Snell will split touches.  Snell lost 15 pounds and it shows and he got a whopping 3.23 yards AFTER contact last week.

Wide Receiver

Quintez Cephus – $3,800
I do not think his 10 targets was an outlier last week.  I’ve been keeping my eye on this kid and fellow Undroppables analyst Jax Falcone wrote up Cephus in a recent tweet.  This game has big-time shootout potential and Kenny Golladay is out again.

Mike Williams – $4,200
Williams did not look hobbled at all last week from his training camp injury and got a huge target share of 9.  This game could get out of hand quick and Williams had a great game the last time the Chiefs and Chargers met.

Parris Campbell – $4,500
As Hines looks like the next Ekeler, Campbell looks like the next Keenan Allen.  People kind of wrote him off after a  litany of injuries and a couple of surgeries but he is exactly what Philip Rivers needs:  a speedy WR with good hands that can get open underneath and make things happen in the open field.  Campbell had 9 targets last week and went 6/71 and the Vikings secondary is bad.

T.Y. Hilton – $5,700
A great “pivot” off of Campbell is Hilton and I know I’m writing up a lot of my Colts this week but they are in such a great spot. Hilton has broken daily tournament slates wide open in the past and I have learned to only play him at home.  This game has sneaky shoot out potential.

Darius Slayton – $5,000
Slayton was in many tournament-winning lineups last week with his 9 targets and over 30 Draft Kings points.  I think this pricing is ridiculous as Slayton draws the Bears who just allowed Matt Stafford to pass for 300 yards.  Daniel Jones is locked in on Slayton and the deep play potential is immense.

Diontae Johnson – $4,500
Shout out to fellow analyst Michelle Magdziuk who was the only other person on Diontae as early as me last summer. Johnson saw a whopping 10 targets last week and he and JuJu face two rookie corners this week with AJ Bouye out.  Oh, and Ben at home is a thing.

Tight End

Logan Thomas – $3,600
Another shout out to fellow Undroppables analyst and Unscripted co-host Jake Besong for turning me on to Thomas and getting him on my sleeper list this year. Thomas gets the Cardinals defense that was hashtag horrible against the position last year and could be Dwayne Haskins second target to Terry McLaurin and Thomas got 8 targets last week and scored.  This will be a popular play but the savings at this position cannot be ignored.

Jordan Reed – $2,600
Reed looks healthy for the time being and my old adage was if he is healthy and starting, you play him.  He won’t need to do much at this price to make value and with all of the injuries to the 49ers pass catchers including most notably starting TE George Kittle, who else is GQ Jimmy going to throw to?

Dallas Goedert – $5,000
Even though he is a little pricier than my normal TE value play I have to mention Goedert because his pricing will continue to be low with Ertz still out there.  The news is that Ertz may draw a lot of Jalen Ramsey this week oh and Goedert has 31 targets for 356 yards and two TDs in his last three games and no one is talking about it.

Jonnu Smith – $4,200
Smith has been on my sleeper list all summer and did a fantastic Week 1 with his 7 targets and returned immense value for those who played him.  He draws another nice matchup this week and with AJ Brown ruled out and Corey Davis hobbled this week in practice who else is Tannehill going to throw to?

Quarterback

Honestly, I do not think this is the week to pay down at this position but I will play Kirk Cousins and Philip Rivers, both priced at $5,900 in a few variations of a game stack.  This week you have Kyler Murray priced way too low at $6,100 and no other QB has more fantasy points against a single team than Josh Allen ($6,700) does against Miami and the Dolphins just let Cam Newton run all over them.

There are several good QB plays this week, I recommend playing around with your line ups for the best fit and stacking the games.

Bonus –  Suggested Stacks

Everyone will be all over the Cowboys/Falcons game.  Play around with both sides and try to be creative.  All three WRs on both sides are good plays.

Ben Roethlisberger’s ($6,300) arm looked great last week and now he gets TWO rookie CBs at home?  Giddy ‘up! Play Ben with JuJu and Diontae and run it back on the other side with Jerry Jeudy ($4,900) and/or Noah Fant ($4,400)

Aaron Rodgers ($6,900) and Davante Adams (17 targets last week!) is the stack here and not Lazard. Marques Valdez-Scantling who had more targets and way more air yards last week. Run it back with Quintez Cephus, T.J. Hockensen, and Marvin Jones who had 8 targets last week as well.

Philip Rivers ($5,900) Honestly you could stack this entire game with Rivers, both backs, Parris Campbell and TY Hilton, and run it back with Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook.  Play around with variations in this one.

Cash Play

I’m excited that my buddy that started Paulie’s Sleepers back in the day, Jackson Mears, is back with me.  Jackson is a sharp DFS cash game player and was actually the #1 Yahoo Nascar DFS player in the world in 2017.  Quite an accomplishment!

The suggested line up below is for head to head and 50/50 cash games where you double your money if you place in the top half of the field.

This is how I should play DFS but I always want to go for the jugular!  In 2018, when we tracked all of Jacksons cash plays for 16 weeks, he had a 67% success rate. The line up below has two holes with and an average of $5,600 to spend at each position so play around with it and make it your own! As a matter of fact, feel free to sub out any play at any time these are your line ups!
