If my math is correct, that’s about 12 million balls.

Recapping from Week 3, we nailed it! So many of our waiver adds hit big, and my two cut suggestions will continue to stay on the waivers in the future after their Week 3 performances. This is why you come to The Undroppables for all your fantasy football advice.

QUARTERBACK

CJ Stroud (Houston Texans)

Yahoo – 20% Rostered
ESPN – 11% Rostered
Sleeper – 32% Rostered

It is exciting to talk about the Houston Texans again in fantasy football. Stroud has been a fringe QB1 the past two weeks, and this offense is only getting started. Texans go against Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons the next two weeks; it would be an excellent streaming option if you need a quarterback these two weeks.

Jimmy Garoppolo (Las Vegas Raiders)

Yahoo – 15% Rostered
ESPN – 12% Rostered
Sleeper – 18% Rostered

Jimmy has finished as a low-end QB1 in Weeks 1 and 3. The common denominator for those weeks? Jakobi Meyers was healthy and played those weeks. This offense looks like they get into spurts in the game and can move the ball at will. The issue has been consistency in the game itself. Look for them to gel as the season progresses; Jimmy might become a sneaky good QB.

*Note – Jimmy Garoppolo did enter the concussion protocol. Brian Hoyer may be a sneaky Week 4 add if he doesn’t progress during the week.

RUNNING BACKS

De’Von Achane (Miami Dolphins)

Yahoo – 41% Rostered
ESPN – 16% Rostered
Sleeper – 46% Rostered

Not every day you see a running back only play in one week of the season and move up to fourth overall in points. That is what Achane did, though, with his 233 total yards and four-touchdown performance in Week 3. This will be the top waiver add; spend all your FAAB. This is a league-winning addition to any roster.

Tyjae Spears (Tennessee Titans)

Yahoo – 24% Rostered
ESPN – 16% Rostered
Sleeper – 32% Rostered

This offense looks terrible, so I understand the reluctance to add Spears to your roster. But RBs are getting thinner out there, and with Spears starting to out-snap Derrick Henry, this is potentially a great bye-week fill for some rosters.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Tank Dell (Houston Texans)

Yahoo – 31% Rostered
ESPN – 23% Rostered
Sleeper – 48% Rostered

He’s a player I should have mentioned last week; now, he is the WR11 on the season. Tank Dell has been a go-to target for the first quarterback we wrote about in this article. Another full FAAB spend if you need to; Tank Dell is not going anywhere for this growing offense.

Adam Thielen (Carolina Panthers)

Yahoo – 47% Rostered
ESPN – 54% Rostered
Sleeper – 58% Rostered

Barely making the thresholds we set for these articles, Adam Thielen had a monster week in Week 3. With 14 targets and turning that into 11 receptions for 145 receiving yards and a touchdown, this man has found a resurgence in Carolina. This could be tied to Andy Dalton, but he had a good game with Bryce Young in Week 2, so we should start thinking Thielen is back!

Joshua Palmer (Los Angeles Chargers)

Yahoo – 2% Rostered
ESPN – 1% Rostered
Sleeper – 5% Rostered

This is terrible news for Mike Williams; we hope for him to recover quickly.  Joshua Palmer looks like he is the immediate benefactor in this offense, though, and had four receptions for 66 yards and a receiving touchdown (crazy deflection play, but we don’t care for fantasy). It’s a solid addition to your roster if you want depth with upside.

TIGHT ENDS

Luke Musgrave (Green Bay Packers)

Yahoo – 18% Rostered
ESPN – 13% Rostered
Sleeper – 25% Rostered

The country music star – Luke Musgrave – is becoming a top tight end this year. Going unnoticed with the rise of Sam LaPorta, Musgrave has been the TE9 on the season and has done that without a touchdown. There’s a huge upside with him knowing that he is getting this production without a TD, and if you watched the games, you know he has been open on deep shots that Jordan Love has just missed. A big breakout game is coming soon for Musgrave.

Noah Fant (Seattle Seahawks)

Yahoo – 2% Rostered
ESPN – 3% Rostered
Sleeper – 7% Rostered

This might be a deep stash, but Noah Fant has had some decent games in the past two weeks. With the TE15 and TE16 (pending MNF games), he has had a consistent 8-10 fantasy points in PPR formats. I promise you, you can do a lot worse at that position. Matchups might have been more favorable in those weeks, and we get the New York Giants in Week 4. Fant might be a decent streaming option if needed.

DROP CANDIDATES

Jahan Dotson (Washington Commanders)

This pains me since I was high on him for this season, but this offense is not good. There were not very good matchups coming up, and even in Week 2, where they put major points – Dotson was uninvolved. It is time to send him back to waivers, and maybe he becomes an add down the road.

Dalton Schultz (Houston Texans)

With CJ Stroud only targeting wide receivers and running backs, the tight end position seems forgotten in this offense. Dalton has not lived up to his draft capital. There are better options; maybe he will have some good weeks, but we need to stop being tempted by his name recognition.

Injury Report | Weeks 1-2

0

The NFL season is underway! Hopefully, if you are reading this your fantasy team is 2-0. If you are not 2-0, there’s a chance some of your better players have already missed some time due to injury. Let’s take a look at some of the injuries that have impacted some of the NFL’s biggest superstars.

Anthony Richardson: Concussion

The #4 overall draft pick in the 2023 NFL draft found himself in the concussion protocol following a rushing TD scored in the first quarter against the Houston Texans. He will have to pass a series of tests and report no symptoms in order to be cleared to play. It’s looking like Richardson is trending towards missing this Sunday’s game, but I anticipate he will return the following week. Be cautious, as second impact syndrome (obtaining a second concussion following a first one) puts him at a high re-injury risk.

Saquon Barkley: High Ankle Sprain

Saquon Barkley suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. Given that it is a high ankle sprain, not a low ankle sprain, this will unfortunately sideline Barkley for closer to 3-6 weeks rather than 2-4. Because Barkley has sprained this ankle several times before, it puts him at a high re-injury risk when he returns to action.

Austin Ekeler: Ankle Sprain

Austin Ekeler suffered an ankle sprain in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. Because it is unspecified high vs. low, it’s harder to judge how much time he will miss. He missed Week 2 and is uncertain for Week 3. Average return to play from ankle injury is 2-3 weeks, so if Ekeler can’t go this Sunday, there’s a good chance he can return to action next week.

Christian Watson: Hamstring

After suffering a hamstring injury in practice, Watson has yet to play a snap for the Packers this season. Unfortunately for Watson, these soft tissue injuries can linger. Watson missed practice yesterday and is looking doubtful for Week 3. Continue to monitor his status, as these injuries can take anywhere from 3-12 weeks depending on severity. Watson seems to be inching closer to return sooner rather than later.

Diontae Johnson: Hamstring

The Steelers WR suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1 blowout loss to the 49ers, landing him on IR. He will spend at least 4 weeks here before he is eligible to return to play. Pickens should continue to see an uptick in targets until Diontae returns to the lineup.

Derrick Henry and Amon-Ra St Brown: Turf Toe

The Titans RB and the Lions star WR are suffering from “turf toe.” This term is used to describe an injury to the ligament on the bottom of your big toe and certainly impacts one’s ability to push off the ground and accelerate. Similar to any other sprain, these can vary in healing times based on severity. It looks like both are listed as questionable, and you should continue to monitor their status over the weekend. The average time missed for minor injuries is 2-3 weeks whereas more serious injuries can take upwards of 6. Judging by practice reports, it seems these two have suffered mild injuries, and should not be missing much action.

Out For the Season: Nick Chubb, Aaron Rodgers, JK Dobbins

These three players suffered gruesome injuries which have ended their 2023 seasons. Due to age (Rodgers) and prior injury history (Dobbins, Chubb) it appears these injuries might seriously impact their ability to return at full strength in 2024 and may cause a serious dip in production. If you are an owner of these three players in a dynasty league, I would recommend selling if able to get a decent return.

Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for more injury information on your favorite players all season long.

If my math is correct, that’s about 12 million balls.

In this weekly DFS article, Abe (DFS_Docket) goes over the top salaried players in both DraftKings and Fanduel to provide his take on who you should play and which players to avoid. Using this article to help construct your rosters, you will better understand who to pay up to win you some money!

Quarterbacks

Paying Up – Kirk Cousins vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Draftkings – $6,900
Fanduel – $7,800

Two things are true about this game. 1) Minnesota loves to throw the ball, and 2) the Chargers’ defense can’t stop the pass (ranked 31st against fantasy QB). Add all that together, and it equals a great Kirk Cousins game.

Avoiding – Justin Fields at Kansas City Chiefs

Draftkings – $7,100
Fanduel – $7,700

Man, do the Bears look like they are in shambles, and Justin Fields is a big reason for that. Playcallers are not allowing Fields to run, and he isn’t a quality NFL passer right now. The Chiefs’ defense held a powerful Jacksonville offense to 9 points. It’s going to get ugly quickly in KC this week.

Running Backs

Paying Up – Javonte Williams at Miami Dolphins

Draftkings – $5,500
Fanduel – $6,100

We all know and believe in Williams’s talent, but the return from the ACL injury has worried some. In Week 2, Javante had 14 touches. If he gets those numbers again, and this week vs. a not-as-good defense in Miami, I expect a lovely week. The price tag solidifies playing him.

Avoiding – Jerome Ford vs. Tennessee Titans

Draftkings – $4,800
Fanduel – $5,600

What??? A clear workhorse for his team and at such a low price tag? And you’re saying don’t play him??? Exactly. For 1, there will be a ton of Ford in DFS lineups at this price. And for 2, the Titans run defense is ELITE, and I don’t expect the Cleveland run game to be able to do much.

Wide Receivers

Paying Up – Michael Pittman Jr. at Baltimore Ravens

Draftkings – $6,200
Fanduel – $6,700

Pittman has shown early on that regardless of who the QB is in Indy, he will see a high volume of the target share. Pittman not only sees a lot of targets, but he produces off of them. Baltimore’s defense has struggled against the pass, and Pittman is in line to take full advantage of that.

Avoiding – Chris Olave at Green Bay Packers

Draftkings – $7,000
Fanduel – $7,800

The Saints’ offense needs to look better. Olave has significant play ability and puts up decent numbers, but for the price tag, you need someone who can 3x your salary, and Olave matching up against Jaire Alexander doesn’t give me high hopes.

If my math is correct, that’s about 12 million balls.

Accountability is one of the things I pride myself on. Last week, we had some great suggestions for players to add, but I certainly whiffed on the players I suggested to cut. D’Andre Swift certainly made sure to prove me wrong, and both Chiefs WRs had bounce-back weeks. Should I consider that…..the jinx section? Oh well, it’s not about being right in this industry – it’s about minimizing the times you are wrong. And we hit on many waiver adds last week, and let’s continue that trend!

QUARTERBACK

Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Yahoo – 15% Rostered
ESPN – 10% Rostered
Sleeper – 19% Rostered

What is there not to like about this version of Baker? He has 34 pass attempts in both games so far, just passed 300 passing yards in Week 2, and has three touchdowns in the first two weeks. Baker will continue to be in games where they ask him to pass a lot, and their bye week is early in the season with Week 5. What a fantastic bye-week QB to add to your roster.

Russell Wilson (Denver Broncos)

Yahoo – 51% Rostered
ESPN – 62% Rostered
Sleeper – 49% Rostered

Russell is bordering on not being available for this article, but this might be the last time we can write about him. The offense is right with the Denver Broncos; Russell can put up points as this offense gels and gets healthier. Their defense looks horrible, which means more scoring from the offense. Javonte Williams and Jerry Juedy will get healthier, and Greg Dulchich will return. Do we see where we are going with this? There is an upside with Russell, and it’s time to look to stash QBs for your bye weeks.

RUNNING BACKS

Zack Moss (Indianapolis Colts)

Yahoo – 53% Rostered
ESPN – 30% Rostered
Sleeper – 56% Rostered

Finding this kind of usage from a waiver wire add is hard. Jonathan Taylor will return but be traded or eased into the offense after his injury. Deon Jackson also looks like they need more confidence in the coaching staff. Add Moss if you need a RB.

Matt Brieda and Gary Brightwell (New York Giants)

Yahoo – 0% Rostered
ESPN – 0% Rostered
Sleeper – 0% Rostered

Adding these players if you are desperate. It will be a short week with the Giants playing on Thursday, and Kyren Williams had a good game against the 49ers.  I don’t suggest adding them, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Jerome Ford (Cleveland Browns)

Yahoo – 17% Rostered
ESPN – 9% Rostered
Sleeper – 17% Rostered

This is a late addition to this week’s waiver wire targets, as Nick Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury last night on MNF against the Steelers. The football community feels gutted as one of the best standard-scoring RBs goes down with another knee injury. Jerome Ford was already a name to watch in dynasty leagues, but he’s worth an addition now as Chubb is out for an extended period, and Ford’s impressive 69-yard (almost TD) run got our attention. Although Ford was vultured for the TD by Strong, Ford is the running back to add moving forward.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Josh Reynolds (Detroit Lions)

Yahoo – 12% Rostered
ESPN – 4% Rostered
Sleeper – 21% Rostered

High-scoring offense? Check. Has thirteen targets on the season? Check. Capable of scoring multiple touchdowns in a game? Check. It seems like a no-brainer to add, but he will be skipped over to add to your roster from other teams. Josh should be rostered on your team if you are dealing with injuries and underperforming fliers you took in the draft. He will continue to be this year’s Zay Jones.

Tutu Atwell (Los Angeles Rams)

Yahoo – 25% Rostered
ESPN – 30% Rostered
Sleeper – 32% Rostered

All the praise is appropriate for Puka Nacua, but Tutu Atwell is undoubtedly playing out of his mind. Cooper Kupp is still injured, and I wonder how fast he will be up to speed. Tutu is a PPR machine currently doing this without a touchdown. That is some serious upside.

Jayden Reed (Green Bay Packers)

Yahoo – 10% Rostered
ESPN – 13% Rostered
Sleeper – 19% Rostered

He already has stats similar to Josh Reynolds, with thirteen targets and a two-touchdown game; we must include the same reasoning to add Reed. The concern is when Christian Watson will return and how much that will change the target distribution. He is still worth stashing on your roster; he may have already earned a role in this offense as he’s seen 13 targets in two weeks of play.

Marvin Mims (Denver Broncos)

Yahoo – 10% Rostered
ESPN – 13% Rostered
Sleeper – 21% Rostered

I just wanted to note if JJ Zachariason calls out the organization to use a player more. With how little they have used him, the production Marvin has done this season screams that the organization will start to design more plays for them. Everyone at the Undroppables was already on him during the draft process, hoping we see him shine more in his rookie season.

Tight End

Zach Ertz (Arizona Cardinals)

Yahoo – 10% Rostered
ESPN – 47% Rostered
Sleeper – 17% Rostered

I need clarification on the disparity between Yahoo and ESPN. It’s always interesting when you see that. But Zach Ertz has been fantastic coming off his ACL injury, and we love to see it! Tight ends have always been a dart throw, and some big names are disappointing (Looking at you, Arthur Smith!) I am adding Ertz to every team I can, especially with 18 targets in the first 2 games.

Jake Ferguson (Dallas Cowboys)

Yahoo – 38% Rostered
ESPN – 12% Rostered
Sleeper – 28% Rostered

A Dallas Cowboys tight end that is fantasy-relevant? It’s a tale as old as time. In Week 1, Jake had seven targets, and a couple were in the red zone. In Week 2, he found the end zone. I think Jake should be the other tight end you are trying to add to your rosters if you miss out on Ertz.

DROP CANDIDATES

Dalvin Cook (New York Jets)

Dalvin certainly looks cooked. Every time he touches the ball, the ground below him turns to sand and looks slower than we have ever seen. Breece will continue to get healthier and take away those carries, and Michael Carter is shown to be the preferred hurry-up back. Cut him; you will never want to start him, either.

AJ Dillon (Green Bay Packers)

Every time we have seen Aaron Jones go down for an injury and AJ Dillon needs to step up, he underperforms. He is rostered on too many teams and feels like a trap whenever you want to play him.  Send him to the waiver wire and let someone else fall for that trap.

Quarterbacks

Paying Up – Josh Allen vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Draftkings – $7,900
Fanduel – $9,200

Josh Allen is a great fantasy asset! Don’t let one matchup against a tremendous defense that had his number fool you. I expect Allen to have a monster bounce-back game against a not-so-good pass defense. His price tag is high but well worth it this week. Plus the target is already on his back from the media and he’ll be looking to silence the doubters.

Avoiding – Dak Prescott vs. New York Jets

Draftkings – $6,600
Fanduel – $7,400

Despite Dallas putting up 40, Dak didn’t have his greatest game. Take that, plus the fact the Jets’ defense just made Josh Allen play at his worst (three interceptions and one fumble lost), and Dak is in line for a 3+ turnover matchup from Sauce and company.

Running Backs

Paying Up – Breece Hall @ Dallas Cowboys

Draftkings – $5,800
Fanduel – $6,900

This price is way too low for a superstar player. Despite splitting touches (which will only increase) and having a tough matchup, Breece Hall is a bonafide star, and you’ll never get him at this price again.

Avoiding – James Conner vs. New York Giants

Draftkings – $6,200
Fanduel – $6,400

Yes, the Giants looked like garbage in Week 1. But the Cardinals are also clearly in full tank mode. There is no better time than now for a Giants defensive rebound game.

Wide Receivers

Paying Up – Tee Higgins vs. Baltimore Ravens

Draftkings – $6,400
Fanduel – $7,000

Week 1’s goose egg is misleading. Burrow is still recovering from a calf injury, and the weather was atrocious in Cleveland. Higgins still had 8 targets in the game. I’m expecting similar targets but with better production and a relatively low price this week.

Avoiding – Davante Adams @ Buffalo Bills

Draftkings – $7,600
Fanduel – $7,500

Please don’t hear what I’m not saying. You are starting Adams in all of your redraft/dynasty leagues. But Adams is still adjusting to Jimmy G, and a tough matchup makes his price tag too high for me this week for DFS play.
