Review from Week 6

Chase Edmonds – Finished RB40 on the week, excellent trim. Raheem Mostert has the stranglehold on this backfield for now.

Elijah Moore – Finished WR110 on the week, excellent trim. No targets this week; he tweeted he isn’t happy but won’t say he isn’t pleased.  The Jets don’t trust Zach to throw, and they are winning, so I don’t see that changing.

Irv Smith Jr. – Finished TE14 on the week, decent trim. Only seven total receiving yards but a touchdown to save the week. Bye week now, but I still think he carries little to no value in the future.

The bye weeks are starting to get brutal! With the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, and Philadelphia Eagles on bye this week, hopefully, you were trimming your roster to prepare for these and have a deep bench. Let’s get to trimming those rosters!

Aaron Rodgers (QB – Green Bay Packers)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 95% Ownership
ESPN – 92% Ownership
Sleeper – 93% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – QB20
Week 4 Finish – QB14
Week 5 Finish – QB14
Week 6 Finish – QB20

Going off of what most redraft leagues are between 10 and 12-team leagues, Aaron Rodgers has yet to finish as a QB1 on the week.  His highest finishes have been QB13, so we are still just going off his name for why we are starting him. I will give him the benefit of the doubt; however, his schedule has been much more challenging. If he can’t get it done this week against the Washington Commanders, it’s time to cut him loose.

D.J. Moore (WR – Carolina Panthers)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 89% Ownership
ESPN – 94% Ownership
Sleeper – 91% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – WR53
Week 4 Finish – WR30
Week 5 Finish – WR39
Week 6 Finish – WR66

This one hurts the most this season.  Baker was going to unlock him, but alas, Matt Rhule has kept him prisoner, all season long.  I don’t even think a quarterback change will save him, he will most likely need to get traded to a new team, and with his recent signing, I am not sure the Panthers are looking to do that. Rest in Peace, our Target King of Old.

Antonio Gibson (RB – Washington Commanders)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 79% Ownership
ESPN – 85% Ownership
Sleeper – 84% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – RB19
Week 4 Finish – RB34
Week 5 Finish – RB44
Week 6 Finish – RB24

Brian Robinson has taken over the backfield in his first two games back from recovering from a gunshot injury.  Hoping that Gibson would get some receiving work but looking like that is still JD McKissic’s role in this offense. If you get a big bonus for return yards, Antonio should only be used.

Untangling the Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football 2022 – Week 7)

Imagine if you added Deon Jackson before Week 6 and played him. He was the highest-scoring running back for Week 6 (excluding the Monday night game). That would be a great feeling, wouldn’t it? I did it in a couple of redraft leagues. I wish I had played him in DFS as well. He looks like he needs to get more playing time in the Colts’ passing game for the rest of the season; the ply produces.

And this season’s production has been very inconsistent across the board. Consistency is key. We need as many players weekly as possible for redraft in your lineup. For instance, guys like Alec Pierce and Josh Reynolds have been producing consistently relatively high floors for three weeks. Yet, I still have their names in this article—week after week. Add guys like this to your team; they will help you tremendously during the bye weeks and maybe every week. Let’s get some of that weekly production.

Now, let me help you untangle that wire for Week 7.

NOTE: If you are new here, this column refers to players rostered in under 50% of Yahoo, ESPN, and Sleeper Leagues.

Quarterbacks

Matt Ryan

In Week 6, Matty Ice threw for 389 yards and three touchdowns, his best game of the season. If you are looking for a potential streamer in Week 7, he is probably your guy. In Week 7, The Colts will play the Titans. The Titans’ defense gives up the 6th most points to quarterbacks in fantasy. Every quarterback that has played against the Titans has thrown multiple touchdowns this season, and only one did not pass for over 300 yards—starting to look like a Money Maker to me.

Marcus Mariota

I believe the Konami Code for quarterbacks is that they run as well as pass. Mariota has run for over 50 yards in the past two games and had a rushing touchdown in Week 6. The Falcons’ game plan is to grind it out with the running game on opponents, including Mariota running the ball. Marcus also passed for two touchdowns in Week 6. Next up, the Bengals.

14% rostered on ESPN

Taylor Heinicke

Carson Wentz will be out for approximately 4 weeks with a fractured finger. Last season Heinicke passed for 3419 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also ran for 313 yards and a touchdown. I like Jimmy Garoppolo more but if you are needy especially for a bye week fill in you could do much worse.

Other quarterbacks to consider if you are desperate:

  • Jimmy Garoppolo – 296 yards passing, 2 TDs
  • Tua Tagovailao – dropped in some leagues

NOTE: Jimmy Garoppolo is my actual top add at quarterback. He was last week in this article as well.

Running Backs

Kenyan Drake

Maybe the biggest name on the waiver wire this week. Drake had 119 yards and a touchdown on ten carries. He was terrific running the ball in Week 6. The Browns are next, and they are the third friendliest team to running backs in fantasy. With Dobbins and every other running back on the Ravens dinged up, Drake looks like an excellent option for Week 7.

Deon Jackson

Deon had ten targets for ten receptions, 79 yards, and rushed 12 times for 42 yards and a touchdown. He has played well enough to carve himself out a portion of the touches once Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines are back to playing. Jackson did leave with a quad injury late in the game. Jackson has been amazingly effective for the Colts the past two weeks

Other running backs to consider if you are desperate:

  • Kyle Juszczyk – 4 Targets, four Receptions, 33 receiving yards
  • Rachaad White – 12 yards rushing, three receptions, 11 receiving yards
  • Latavius Murray – 15 carries, 66 yards

Wide Receivers

Tyquan Thorton

When you have numbers like Thornton, did you get mentioned in Untangling the Wire? Three carries for 16 yards, a touchdown rushing, four receptions for 37 yards, and another touchdown. Thornton made himself right at home on the Patriots.

Chase Claypool

Claypool saw seven targets which he turned into seven receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. In Week 5, Claypool saw nine targets as well. He is getting more involved in the passing offense for the Steelers. Claypool should be rostered in all leagues.

41% rostered on Yahoo

Wan’Dale Robinson

He finally hit the field for the Giants. I added him on Saturday myself in multiple leagues. Wan’Dale came through with three receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown on four targets in Week 6. It was apparent in the preseason he would be involved in the Giants’ passing game. His first game played as a pro shows lots of promise.

Other wide receivers to consider:

  • Dante Pettis – 7 targets, four receptions, 84 yards, TD
  • Alec Pierce – 7 targets, three receptions, 49 yards, TD
  • Josh Reynolds – Coming off a bye

NOTE: I have written about Pierce and Reynolds many times in this article. If they are not rostered in your league, they should be.

Tight Ends

Hunter Henry

He is mentioned in this article as someone you might want to consider. Likewise, Henry is someone to consider adding. In Week 6, Henry had four receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown. Over the past three weeks, he has been increasingly more involved in the Patriots offense.

36% rostered on Yahoo

Daniel Bellinger

Bellinger has scored a touchdown in 3 out of 5 games this season. In Week 6, he saw the most targets this season with 5. He turned that into five receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown. He is carving out a position in the Giants’ offense more and more every week.

Other tight ends to consider:

  • Mike Gesicki – 7 targets, six receptions, 69 yards, 2 TDs
  • Robert Tonyan – 12 targets, ten receptions, 90 yards
  • Evan Engram – 6 targets, five receptions, 40 yards

Money Makers and Heart Breakers (Fantasy Football 2022 – Week 6)

One of the things I try to teach people that work for me or that I mentor is to be helpful. Try and help people. I have had some clients think it’s a gimmick and that I do it only to be self-serving because I have explained that by me helping someone, they will remember that and then, in turn, help me.

But you can’t just help people hoping they will return the favor. That is a horrible approach to things. So instead, help people because it is the right thing to do. I guess it is sort of like karma.

Karma- the definition of karma is the sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.

I view this as something simple, help people with things you are good at because it is the right thing to do. Then, people will remember that you were helpful, and some, not all, will also be helpful when you are in a time of need.

Remember, some people are just assholes and will not be helpful unless they think something is in it for them. It’s ok, and you don’t have to help them again once you know their motivations.

Why am I babbling about being helpful? Well, it is because I hope Money Makers and Heart Breakers are valuable to you. I try to take my knowledge of fantasy football and look at data to help make good decisions on who to play and who NOT to play weekly.

I sincerely hope this article helps you. Now onto the Money Makers and the Heart Breakers for Week 6.

If you are new here, this column can help you handle some sit/start questions you might have, but its primary purpose is to take you through the main DFS slate weekly with players that will make you money and players that will break your heart.

Here is a brief definition of each of my terms for anyone that might be new:

💰 Money Maker – This player will perform better than expectations

💔 Heart Breaker – This player will perform lower than expectations

💰 Money Makers

Quarterbacks

Josh Allen

This guy has passed for the most yards after five weeks and the second-most touchdowns. He has yet to finish outside the top 5 at fantasy scoring for a quarterback thus far. The Chiefs give up the 7th most points to quarterbacks in fantasy. Quarterbacks average 277 yards and two touchdowns per game against the Chiefs. Every quarterback to play them has thrown for multiple touchdowns this season. This game has an over/under of 54 points, by far the highest on the main slate. The Bills might score 40 of those points. The video game that is the Bills’ offense will go nutty again. Play him in cash games and GPP formats.

$8,200 on DraftKings
$9,200 on Fanduel

Tom Brady

Brady has his wide receivers back on the field. Tom has thrown for 736 yards and four touchdowns in the past two weeks. In fantasy, the Steelers give up the fifth most points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. The Steelers give up 298 yards and two touchdowns per week to the other teams passing game. So if you don’t want to pay up, for Allen, Brady is the next best alternative in cash and GPP this week.

$6,300 on DraftKings
$7,500 on Fanduel

Geno Smith

Can you hear it? Can you hear the people jumping on the Geno bandwagon? Yes, this includes me. All three of the competent quarterbacks’ that have played against the Cardinals have gotten over 250 yards and multiple touchdowns against them. Arizona gives up the eighth most points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. Geno, meanwhile, has multiple touchdowns in all but one game this season. He has looked highly competent. Play Geno in a nice matchup this week; the price is right to build around in GPP.

Running Backs

Dalvin Cook

Cook looked terrific in Week 5. He rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for another 27 yards. The Dolphins are the 11th friendliest team to running backs, as they have allowed opposing teams running backs to score a touchdown in each of the last three games. They were getting utterly torched by the Jets’ run game last week. Cook will keep it rolling in Week 6.

$7,500 on DraftKings
$8,300 on Fanduel

Rhamondre Stevenson

Stevenson looked terrific against the Lions. Yes, I know that was the Lions, and they make every running back look amazing. Damien Harris will be out in Week 6. The snaps and touches will be there for Stevenson. He is also playing against a Browns team that averages 155 total yards and two touchdowns to running backs a week. Seven running backs have had double-digit fantasy scoring games against the Browns in the first five weeks of play. The Browns are bad against the run. Stevenson will have a great day and probably be a little chalky.

$6,000 on DraftKings
$7,500 on Fanduel

Raheem Mostert

The Vikings give up the 10th most points to opposing teams running backs. A running back has scored double-digit fantasy points against this defense so far every week of the season. Mostert has dominated the snap counts at running back for the Dolphins for the past two weeks with a 70% share. He has double-digit scores each of the last two weeks. This looks like 100 total yards and a touchdown-esque game for Mostert.

Wide Receivers

Justin Jefferson

I had him as a heartbreaker last week in a bad matchup. Instead, Jefferson made me look foolish. In the past two games, he has had 26 targets, 22 receptions, 301 yards, a rushing touchdown, and a 2-point conversion. He is a machine. Meanwhile, Miami gives up the 7th most points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. Jefferson has a 30% target share on his team. He eats up yards like no tomorrow, but he only has two touchdowns on the season. That should change in Week 6. That’s spelled J-U-S-T-I-N, last name J-E-Double F-E-R- Son.

$8,900 on DraftKings
$9,200 on Fanduel

Deebo Samuel

Deebo has a 28% target share of the Niner passing game. Deebo has double-digit fantasy scores in every game this season. The Falcons give up the 6th most fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. It’s pretty easy to see where I am going here, right? One of the most consistent guys in fantasy up against a not-so-good defense. Play him. Deebo will run, Deebo will catch, and Deebo will score you some fantasy points in Week 6.

$7,600 on DraftKings
$7,600 on Fanduel

Darius Slayton

The Giants needed someone to step up at wide receiver. Slayton did that in Week 5. He had seven targets for six receptions and 79 yards. He had a 26% target share in Week 5. The Ravens are up in Week 6. The Ravens have given up the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. The matchup is right; the usage is headed in the right direction. Slayton is an inexpensive play in a great matchup. Good GPP play.

Mike Evans

Stefon Diggs

$8,400 on DraftKings
$8,900 on Fanduel

Ja’Marr Chase

$7,700 on DraftKings
$8,100 on Fanduel

Tight Ends

Zach Ertz

The Seahawks are the worst team at defending the tight end position. Ertz, meanwhile, has double-digit fantasy scores in each game this season. The Seahawks have given up double-digit fantasy scores to tight ends in 4 out of the five weeks of play thus far. This one is easy. Do you want a tight end to produce in Week 6? Ertz is a slam dunk with his 20% target share and fantastic chemistry with Murray.

$4,900 on DraftKings
$6,000 on Fanduel

Taysom Hill

The Bengals are middle of the road against tight ends. Other than his fantasy designation, is Hill a tight end? I don’t know what position he plays. Let’s just call him a “football player,” he was a huge waiver add for the season-long leagues after his amazing game in Week 5. He was responsible for four touchdowns. He threw for one and ran 3 in. The Saints look better with Hill on the field right now. His floor is just as low as anyone else’s, but his ceiling is higher than almost everyone in the position. It could be a GPP darling in Week 6.

N/A on DraftKings
$7,500 on Fanduel

Will Dissly

Will is a matchup and touchdown-dependent kind of play. The Cardinals give up the second most points to opposing teams’ tight ends, so the matchup is right. Geno looks for Dissly in the redzone. I like his chances of scoring in Week 6. High-value play for his price in DFS. I have him in lineups and in season-long myself.

$3,100 on DraftKings
$5,000 on Fanduel

Other Tight Ends for Week 6

George Kittle

$5,700 on Fanduel

Evan Engram

Davis Njoku

💔Heart Breakers

Quarter Backs

Marus Mariota

The Niners are giving up the least number of points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. Geno Smith is the only good one they have played so far (I bet you never thought you would read that). It was Geno’s worst game of the season and the only time he didn’t score in double digits. I wouldn’t play him in season-long or DFS unless you are desperate.

Patrick Mahomes

You are playing him in season-long leagues. I am not even thinking about it for DFS. The Bills are the second toughest team on quarterbacks in fantasy. Only Lamar Jackson has managed 15 points against them this season. I know Mahomes is fantastic. I know Mahomes truthers will hate seeing this. This defense was explicitly built for him. I am out in any form of DFS on Mahomes in Week 6.

Jameis Winston/Andy Dalton

The Bengals are another team that has only allowed Lamar Jackson to score 15 fantasy points against them. I know Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton; they are not Lamar Jackson. Out, Out, O-U-T OUT on whoever is the quarterback for the Saints this week. There it was; my mouth started filling with saliva at the thought. It’s early in the heartbreakers, so that I won’t be sick yet.

Running Backs

Nick Chubb

Play him in season-long leagues. But in DFS, avoid it at all costs. The Patriots are really good against the run. They have allowed only three running backs to get double-digit fantasy scores against them this season. No one has scored more than 13 points. I am not getting chubby this week.

Tyler Allgeier

You know who likes to run the ball. The Falcons do. You can’t run the ball against the Niners’ defense. Running backs have had success catching the ball against this defense. So, there is hope. Listen, if you need him in season-long, play him; it’s a bye week, I get it. Unless you are all Emo and want to feel bad about yourself, avoid him in DFS. And stop cutting yourself; I need to talk to your parents about that.

Najee Harris

Do you know who was out-snapped by Jaylen Warren in Week 5? Najee was. Do you know whose coaching staff said Warren would be getting more playing time? The Steelers. To top it off, the Buccaneers are a top 3 defense against the run. Sorry Najee, I expect to see Warren start to pass you on the depth chart. Where is that bucket?

Wide Receivers

Christian Kirk

If any Jaguars pass catcher will do it against the Colts, it’s Kirk. But you need to understand that the Colts give up the second fewest number of fantasy points to opposing teams’ wide receivers. He needs a touchdown to get to double digits in Week 6. I just don’t see that happening. So you might want to acquire him for your season-long right before Week 9. Remember, I wrote that before Week 6.

Rashod Bateman

The Giants are very good at defending wide receivers. They have given up some decent days to wide receivers, but the Ravens can just run the living daylights out of the ball and not need to pass so much. I am not playing Bateman in DFS, and I am up in the air on playing him for season-long this week.

Chris Olave

Olave got a little dinged up in Week 5. The Bengals defend wide receivers well. The Bengals give up the 4th fewest points to the opposing team’s wide receivers. In season-long, you are playing him. In DFS, he is a complete avoid. YUCK!

Tight Ends

Kyle Pitts

Pitts missed Week 5. Pitts has been in the pits so far this season. The Niners’ defense is exceptionally hard on every position, even tight ends. The passing volume of the Falcons is SO low. Only the Bears pass the ball less. His only hope is if Drake London misses the game and his target share is close to 50%. Then he could have ten targets. I threw up in my mouth; I had to walk away as small streams came through my fingers. I am not playing him anywhere. Sometimes talent doesn’t win out.

Hayden Hurst

The Saints are good against tight ends. Hurst has been good this season. I am playing him in a season-long matchup still myself. I would be all out to avoid for DFS. Only one tight end has scored more than five fantasy points this season against the Saints. I hope Hurst makes it 2, but “I hope” is not a great strategy.

Ian Thomas

Hopefully, you weren’t counting on this guy anyways. You shouldn’t be, but some people are crazy. He hasn’t done anything this season. He is in a bad matchup. Zach Ertz is the only tight end to score more than six fantasy points against the Rams’ defense. He scored 7. I needed someone else to write about. I chose this lousy player in this horrible matchup. I wanted an easy one; what can I say?

Review from Week 5

Chase Claypool – Finished WR43 on the week, decent trim. Kenny Pickett might be willing to sling the football, so I might be wrong on this one. Still behind Diontae Johnson and Pat Freiermuth, and George Pickens is earning targets, it still makes me nervous to start Chase.

Allen Robinson – Finished WR82 on the week, excellent trim. Matthew Stafford is only throwing to Cooper Kupp and Tyler Higbee.  Allen is washed; this will be the last we hear about it from me!

Darrell Henderson Jr. – Finished RB43 on the week, pretty good trim. Cam Akers had all the rushes, but Darrell had all the receptions.  With 7 points in a PPR league, neither of these backs is startable because of this offensive line.

Matthew Stafford – Finished QB23 on the week, pretty good trim. He faced a tough Cowboys defense and still got a TD and over 300 yards, but not enough, and he barely counted as a QB2 this past week.

The bye weeks are here! With the Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, and Tennessee Titans on bye this week, hopefully, you were trimming your roster to prepare for these and have a deep bench! Let’s get to cutting!

Injuries will make this week tougher to cut and may be more straightforward for you if you are hurting. Read Mike Reedy’s Untangling the Wire this week to ensure you add real value. Then, start your razors; let’s trim up those rosters!

Chase Edmonds (RB – Miami Dolphins)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 88% Ownership
ESPN – 80% Ownership
Sleeper – 84% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – RB42
Week 3 Finish – RB12
Week 4 Finish – RB31
Week 5 Finish – RB80

As the expected lead back for the Miami Dolphins, Raheem Mostert has outplayed Chase Edmonds until Myles Gaskin gets in more touches now.  Edmonds has been touchdown-dependent all year, and now there are fewer opportunities to get those.  Drop him!

Elijah Moore (WR – New York Jets)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 72% Ownership
ESPN – 77% Ownership
Sleeper – 76% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – WR65
Week 3 Finish – WR52
Week 4 Finish – WR44
Week 5 Finish – WR94

With Breece Hall, Tyler Conklin, and Garrett Wilson coming into New York, the lone man out has been Elijah Moore.  He is a very talented WR, and I hope he picks it back up but send him to the waiver wire so you aren’t tempted to start him.

Irv Smith Jr. (TE – Minnesota Vikings)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 49% Ownership
ESPN – 33% Ownership
Sleeper – 46% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – TE18
Week 3 Finish – TE29
Week 4 Finish – TE31
Week 5 Finish – TE17

Close to my threshold of being >=50% ownership on a format, I was surprised to see so many people are still rostering Irv Smith.  He is good for 3-4 receptions a week for about 35 yards.  Players like Hayden Hurst and Taysom Hill are out on the waiver and have better seasons.  Please roster them instead of Irv.

Untangling the Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football 2022 – Week 6)

The epic movie Spartacus starring Kirk Douglas, came up at the Undroppables water cooler this week. We utilized the hashtag #IAmSpartacus and essentially had a lot of fun with someone on Twitter.

With that said, I want to say that there is a lot of wisdom we can gain from movies. I have written professional articles about sales, consulting, and project management. I have taken lines from films that most of us overlook and explained the vast wisdom in what was discussed in the movie.

They show how hard the gladiators train in this movie, and a classic line in the film is:

“Gladiators seek to best all. That is how they survive.”
-Spartacus.

So, please act like a gladiator when you play fantasy football or work that waiver wire. If you want to make it to be champion, you need to do some things. Strive for greatness in your league. Make trades, set your roster correctly, and work that damn waiver wire. Seek to best all, and play to win. Don’t make trades or waiver moves just because. It makes them improve your starting lineup through the bye weeks (right now) and then in the playoffs.

The best way to utilize this article to help you is to pay attention to the players I am saying to add right now and the other players to consider. I often write about a player a week or two before they become a must-add. So get them that week early if you can.

Suppose you are playing dynasty or leagues with extremely deep benches; attempt to acquire some of the players I list in this article. Everyone will write about adding Kenneth Walker, Geno Smith, and Taysom Hill this week. Pay attention to the other players as well.

NOTE: If you are new here, this column refers to players rostered in under 50% of Yahoo, ESPN, and Sleeper Leagues.

Moving into Week 6, the highest priority people I would have on waivers are Khalil Herbert (49% Yahoo) and Alexander Mattison (55% Yahoo). If one of these guys is available in your league, they are the top 2 waiver wire additions. Herbert meets the qualifications for this article, so that I will write about him.

Quarterbacks

Geno Smith

Geno Smith? I believe in you. I wrote about you last week here as well. Then you give us a top-10 performance in Week 5 with 268 yards and three touchdowns passing. He is currently a top 10 QB on the season. I doubted you against the Saints and I was wrong. Add him if you have been playing someone like Russell Wilson or Matthew Stafford

In Week 5, Jimmy G threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns against the Panthers. Next week the Niners play the Falcons. Only Jacoby Brissett did not throw for either 300 yards or multiple touchdowns against the Falcons this season. So at the very least, he is a good streaming option in a solid match in Week 6.

Other quarterbacks to consider if you are desperate:

  • Zach Wilson – 210 yards passing, rushing TD
  • Justin Fields – 208 and a TD yards passing, 47 yards rushing
  • Daniel Jones – Stream Alert with the Ravens up next

Running Backs

Kenneth Walker

Once Penny got injured, Walker stepped into the lead-back role against a tough Saints defense. He answered with eight carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. That is an average of 11 yards per carry. He tore off the majority of that in 69 yards run. Yes, Gronk, we know this is your favorite number. He will get the touches moving forward for the Seahawks. The main priority add at running back before Week 6.

Deon Jackson

Jonathan Taylor was already injured. Nyheim Hines got hurt in Week 5. Jackson answered the call to duty. 13 carries for 62 yards and four receptions for another 29 yards. He produced very well in filling in for everyone.

Tevin Coleman

Signs to the practice squad off the street and became the backup in Niner land. He already knows the system. Has a total of 67 yards and two touchdowns on 11 touches in Week 5. This is not the wrong way to get your feet wet in 2022. I will make him an add if I am running back needy.

Eno Benjamin

In Week 5, Eno had 11 total touches, which he turned into 53 yards and a touchdown. They will use him both running the ball and as a receiver. He looks good. To top it off, Darrell Williams got hurt in Week 5, which opens up more touches for Eno.

  • Mike Boone – 38 yards rushing, three receptions for 47 yards receiving
  • James Cook – 4 carries, 31 yards, and a TD
  • Jaylen Warren – 29 yards rushing, four receptions, 39 yards receiving

Wide Receivers

Jakobi Meyers

Meyers missed two games but returned with a vengeance against a bad Lions team. In Week 5, he had seven receptions, 111 yards, and a touchdown. He has only played in 3 games thus far but has not scored less than eight fantasy points in half-point PPR. Additionally, he had a 38% target share in Week 5 which makes him tough to ignore if you need help at receiver.

Josh Reynolds

I wrote about him in this same spot last week. He now has four straight weeks of double-digit fantasy points. In Week 5, he had ten targets for six receptions and 92 yards. Now 28 targets over the past three games. He is second on the Lions in air yards. This team is passing the ball a lot. Reynolds is on bye in Week 6.

Alec Pierce

Alec was someone you should have considered adding last week. He missed the first two weeks of the season, but he has 61 yards, 80 yards, and 81 yards in the previous three weeks. His targets and receptions have gone up every game—even a 22% target share in Week 5. Snap share is also increasing. Pierce is someone to add now.

  • Khalil Shakir – 5 targets, three receptions, 75 yards, TD
  • Darius Slayton – 7 targets, six receptions, 79 yards

Tight Ends

Taysom Hill

He is my top addition this week. I know he is a boom/bust kind of guy. I know you probably think he is a gadget player. You are correct. But the Saints are simply a better team when they give him snaps and call his name in plays. I don’t know what position to say this guy plays; all I know is if he is healthy, he gives you production. With 22 passing yards, a touchdown passing, nine carries for 112 yards, and three touchdowns rushing. If you punted the tight end position in drafts, let’s kick it to Taysom Hill now. He is the overall TE3 on the season.
