Flexing (Fantasy Football 2021 – Week 4)

Are you looking for the perfect flex to put into your lineup? Do not worry, as I have you covered with the top-five flex plays each week. The formula is simple. I look at running backs and wide receivers starting with the RB25/WR25 and dig deeper. I use FantasyPros ADP and its one-point PPR.

Running Backs

Nyheim Hines

Hines scored his first touchdown on the season and has earned consistent targets this season. Hines has 12 receptions which are tied for 10th. He doesn’t get many carries (16) on the season, but he is efficient. The Colts face Miami, and the Dolphins give up the second-most points to running backs (82) and tied for 25th in receptions allowed to RBs (20). Hines has hit double-digit points in two of three weeks and is the RB21 on the season.

Leonard Fournette

Fournette has not plunged into the end zone this season but remains active in the rushing and target department. He has hit double-digit points in Week 1 and 2 and will face the Patriots in Week 4. The Patriots are tough against the run (12th) in allowing fantasy points. They are also stingy against the running backs in catches (13th). Fournette is the RB35 on the season.

J.D. McKissic

McKissic didn’t work out well last week, but he has a good match-up against the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta has allowed 50 fantasy points (16.9 ppg) to the running backs. They are also tied for 21st in receptions allowed to opposing RBs. Catching the ball is where McKissic shines. Overall, McKissic has one week of double-digit points and is the RB45 on the season.

Michael Carter

Carter has seen his workload increase since Week 1 where he saw just four carries. In Week 2, he had 11 attempts, and in Week 3, he carried the ball nine times. Carter has also been active in the passing game by pulling in five balls on 8-targets. The Titans have struggled against the run giving up 56-points (18.7 ppg) to running backs which is 19th worst. Carter has one double-digit performance and is the RB47 on the season.

Wide Receivers

Jalen Waddle

For rookie wide receivers, Waddle is right behind Ja’Marr Chase in fantasy points (57-45). Waddle has scored double-digit points each week this season and caught 12 passes for 58-yards in Week 3. The Dolphins play the Colts, who are the 28th worst in fantasy points allowed (98) to wideouts. On the season, Waddle is the WR25.

Cole Beasley

Beasley was heavily targeted in Week 1 and 3. In those two weeks, he got 13 targets each, and he had 30 overall. In those two weeks, he posted double-digit points. On the season, Beasley has 23 receptions for 194 yards and has not scored a touchdown. The Bills face the Texans, who are tenth-best against wide receivers in points allowed (60). Beasley is the WR28 on the season.

Michael Pittman

Pittman has shown to be the WR1 in the Colts offense. Pittman is coming off back-to-back weeks where he has double-digit points. In Week 2, he went over 100-yards receiving. Pittman doesn’t have a lot of speed but does well in space and picks up yards after the catch. The Colts face the Dolphins, allowing the 18th fewest points (72) to wide receivers. Pittman has not caught a touchdown and is the WR34 on the season.

Jakobi Meyers

Meyers has been silently producing steady numbers for the Patriots. Meyers had an outstanding 14 targets last week and caught nine for 94-yards. He has double-digit points in Week 1 and 3 and now faces the Buccaneers in Week 4. Tampa Bay has given up the most points to receivers (38.3 ppg). Interestingly, Meyers, in his 104 receptions, has not caught a touchdown. He is currently the WR39.
