Flexing (Fantasy Football 2021 – Week 6)

Are you looking for the perfect flex to put into your lineup? Do not worry, as I have you covered with the top-five flex plays each week. The formula is simple. I look at running backs and wide receivers starting with the RB25/WR25 and dig deeper. I use FantasyPros ADP for the rankings and its one-point PPR.

Running Backs

Chuba Hubbard

Chuba Hubbard rushed for 101-yards on 24 carries while adding five receptions for another 33-yards against the Eagles in his second consecutive start. Hubbard may receive another shot if Christian McCaffrey continues to not practice. McCaffrey missed Thursday. The Panthers face the Vikings, who are 30th against the run allowing 26.2 ppg. Hubbard is RB40.

JD McKissic

Another week and another listing of JD McKissic. With McKissic, it is hit or miss, and every other week it’s been a miss. The good news is that it was last week. McKissic’s points come ultimately from getting targets with the occasional steal of a touchdown near the goal line or a passing score. He has reached double-digit points in two of five weeks and is currently the RB35. The Chiefs allow the 23rd most points to the running back (26.7 ppg) and tied for 18th in receptions allowed.

Javonte Williams

Javonte Williams has seen an efficient workload while backing up Melvin Gordon; however, it has decreased due to a negative game script against the Steelers and Ravens. A timeshare should continue as neither has been much better than the other back. The Raiders give up the 21st most rushing points (26.3 ppg). Williams is the RB30 on the season.

Brandon Bolden

Brandon Bolden was on the field for 24 of a possible 64 snaps. However, it wasn’t his best performance as he had just two carries for 25 yards and catching all four of his targets for another six. Bolden is primarily used in the James White role and double-digit points in Week 5. The Cowboys (7th) are tough against the run allowing just (20.1 ppg). However, teams have been able to dump the ball to running backs as Dallas has allowed the 29th most receptions to the position.

Wide Receivers

Michael Pittman

Michael Pittman has shown every week that he is the number one receiver on the team. Pittman caught six of seven targets for 89 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens last week. His TD came on a fantastic play where he basically went through the defender to catch the ball. Carson Wentz has looked more relaxed in the offense and isn’t suffering as much from that ankle injury. Pittman has scored double-digit points in each game this season. The Colts face the Texans, and they are seventh against receivers, but that is more because of the game script than talent. Pittman is WR25 on the season.

Emmanuel Sanders

Can Emmanuel Sanders be stopped? It doesn’t appear so, as he has been the most significant component in the Bills passing offense. Sanders scored twice last week against the Chiefs and twice against the Football team, accounting for his touchdowns. Sanders doesn’t have the most targets or yards and is third in receptions on the team. Even Dawson Knox has more touchdowns than Sanders. Buffalo takes on the Titans, and they are the worst team against wide receivers by allowing (47.4 ppg). Sanders is the WR21 on the season.

Tim Patrick

Tim Patrick has been solid this season amongst the injuries to Denver’s wide receivers. Last week he caught seven of nine targets for 89 yards. Patrick hasn’t scored in three weeks but routinely gets targets (20) in the previous three weeks. Las Vegas has been a difficult team to throw against, and they are the fifth-best against wide receivers (28.7 ppg). Patrick is the WR31.

Laviska Shenault

Laviska Shenault received only three targets and brought in one pass for 58-yards. It was a much better game against the Bengals in Week four as he caught six passes for 99-yards. It hasn’t been the best season for Shenault, and he has double-digit points only twice. The Jaguars will be in London facing the Dolphins, who allow the 28th most points to receivers. Shenault is the WR53 on the season.
