UPDATE (3/9/2022): Carson Wentz traded to Washington Commanders
Terry McLaurin (WR16) โ ๏ธ
Michael Pittman (WR) โ ๏ธ
At first glance, the Wentz trade doesn’t change much in terms of his near-term fantasy outlook other than maybe quelling concerns about whether he will be a starter next season.
For the WRs impacted in this trade, McLaurin gets a new QB but Wentz isn’t exactly an upgrade over Taylor Heinicke looking at numbers from last year. Looking at advanced metrics c/o PlayerProfiler, you can see that Wentz may have thrown less interceptions but Heinicke might be the better QB for a player like McLaurin. If you are rostering McLaurin and have been looking for a silver lining to move him for good value, this could be an opportunity based on a perceived rise in value. If not, I would hold him and see if he can develop chemistry with Wentz. On the other hand, Michael Pittman could be a potential acquisition target before the Colts trade for their new QB. The early names circulating include Jameis Winston, Jordan Love, and Jimmy Garoppolo. The only free agent I could see benefitting MPJ would be Winston. If you’re rostering Pittman, he’s a solid hold until further notice and hope for the best. If you have been targeting Pittman, this is an opportunity to trade for him at a slight discount.
Aaron Rodgers signs extension with Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers (QB16) ๐
Davante Adams (WR7) ๐
Amari Rodgers (WR83) ๐
Jordan Love (QB32) ๐
With this massive extension, Aaron Rodgers will likely retire as a Green Bay Packer. He’s still in the backend of his prime and arguably playing the best football of his career. We just saw the GOAT, Tom Brady, put together some historical seasons as he put the exclamation mark on a legendary career. Rodgers is now solidified as the QB7 (possibly higher) in dynasty fantasy football. I would suspect that the Packers and Rodgers have already discussed a plan to bolster the offensive line and add a playmaker or two at wide receiver. I consider his current value to be a little higher than the 2022 1.04. If you’re a QB-needy team in a Superflex league with an early to mid 1st round pick and a solid roster, there isn’t a QB in this class that will get you over the top like Rodgers will for the next couple of seasons. With that said, if you’re holding 1.01 – 1.03 in this class, I would likely hold.
Questions and concerns around Davante Adams’ dynasty value have been lingering for weeks but now we have more clarity. With Rodgers staying in Green Bay, Adams is locked in as a top 10 WR in dynasty regardless of where Treylon Burks, Chris Olave, or Drake London go. Like his counterpart, Adams was worth right around that mid 2022 1st range right now before the recent news. Expect to add a bit on top (mid to late 2nd) to get a deal done.
The Packers WR corps is still shallow and Rodgers will need help while the Packers are nearly $30M over the cap. Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a free agent and has reportedly drawn interest from division rivals. Allen Lazard is a restricted free agent as well. For Day 1 or 2 picks this year, Green Bay has the 28th, 60th, and 92nd overall picks in the upcoming draft so they could take a WR with one of those picks. Amari Rodgers is still young and could be a dynamic replacement for Randall Cobb but don’t bank on it.
What does this mean for Jordan Love? This is a clear indication by the franchise that it is admitting their mistake in drafting Love. Maybe he gets moved to a team looking for a young QB as the market begins to heat up…
Just hit up a few NFL scouts about potential asking price for Jordan Love. Most think Packers could get a 2nd round pick for him. Feeling is talent & upside worth that roll of dice.

Russell Wilson traded to Denver Broncos
Russell Wilson (QB13) ๐๐
Javonte Williams (RB5) ๐
DK Metcalf (WR11) ๐
Jerry Jeudy (WR27) ๐๐
Tyler Lockett (WR31) ๐๐
Courtland Sutton (WR38) ๐
Tim Patrick (WR62) ๐
Noah Fant (TE10) โ ๏ธ
Albert Okwuegbunam (TE18) ๐๐
This blockbuster trade has massive implications in dynasty fantasy football. Within hours of Aaron Rodgers agreeing to stay in Green Bay, the Broncos and Seahawks closed one of the biggest deals in NFL history.
First and foremost, Russ is firmly entrenched as a top 10 QB in dynasty leagues and arguments can be made for top 5 although he is now lacking the rushing upside. If Rodgers is now worth more than a mid 1st then add an early 2nd or more for Russell Wilson given his age and situation around him. Russ finds himself in a much better situation when it comes to a balanced offense. Seattle had WR playmakers but Denver does as well and arguably more. Russ also gets away from Pete Carroll and that stifling and frustrating propensity to establish the run. Denver would not have made the move for Wilson if they weren’t prepared to let Russ (finally) cook.
Immediately, all Denver skill players see an increase in dynasty value with even more upside for the pass catchers. The outlooks for Sutton, Jeudy, and Patrick are looking much better with Wilson under center than Bridgewater or Lock. Javonte Williams should also see more red zone and high-quality touches in a much-improved offense. Good luck prying away Javonte now. Young TE sleeper Albert Okwuegbunam gets a double boost with Russ as his QB and news that Noah Fant are headed to Seattle as part of the deal. He was a favorite of mine before the news and now Albert O will have a chance to become a household name. I wouldn’t look to acquire any Denver skill player in a trade and only consider moving Sutton or Jeudy if you’re being offered a 2022 1st. Jeudy operates primarily out of the slot and we know how Lockett (another slot WR) produced alongside Russ. Sutton is an outside threat and could be one of the best X receivers. He’ll now see plenty of accurate, catchable deep targets from Wilson. Don’t sleep on Tim Patrick who has produced respectable numbers while catching passes from Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater. Patrick is a cost-controlled WR for the next few seasons so he’s worth a hold.
Noah Fant is a hold at the moment and his dynasty value will likely remain unchanged. He has already produced through poor QB play and alongside talented WRs which is the situation he finds in Seattle. The Seahawk WR duo in Metcalf and Lockett take a massive hit in value with the departure of Wilson. Lockett takes the bigger hit of the two receivers. There are also rumors that Tyler Lockett is on the trade block. This is not the time to look to move off DK or Lockett if you are rostering them. DO NOT PANIC TRADE. On the flip side, I would kick the tires on DK and see if a mid to late 2022 1st can get it done. Through all of the fallout from this blockbuster, DK buy low is the biggest takeaway. And try to get it done before Seattle signs another QB or Lockett is traded!
Per source, following the #Seahawks trading Russell Wilson to the #Broncos, they are also open for business on wide receiver Tyler Lockett. With plenty of teams needing WR help, he’s a name to keep a close eye on.
