I am struggling very hard to find something to write here for a good introduction for this week. Sometimes that happens, I get a little writers block and I just can’t think of anything witty or funny to put in here. That’s when it hits me, I should probably just tell you that. You probably don’t even want some long, tedious introduction anyways so this week I am making it easy.
If you are new here…
How does this work? Typically, I am not going to tell you to play anyone that is blatantly obvious. I may have to add a place where there are guys you should be playing whether I have them in here or not. If you have Patrick Mahomes, play him (unless I have him as a Heart Breaker). Christian McCaffrey, play him. For the record, CMC has an amazing match up in Week 3 and is easily a Money Maker if you want to pay up for him. There will be many times I will have a big name as a Heart Breaker for DFS. It doesn’t mean they suck, it means that week there is better value elsewhere.
Here is a brief definition of each of my terms for anyone that might be new:
💰 Money Maker – This player will perform better than expectations
💔 Heart Breaker – This player will perform lower than expectations
💰 Money Makers
Quarterbacks
Daniel Jones
Jones has been surprisingly good for fantasy purposes the first two games of this season. Passing and rushing for a touchdown in each of the first two games. In Week 3, he gets to play against the Atlanta Falcons, who have been the worst team in the league against the quarterback position in fantasy so far this season. Granted it was Tom Brady and Jalen Hurts, but the Falcons have been burned both through the air and on the ground by quarterbacks, expect more of that this week.

DANNY JONES MY RUSHING KING
— ashley (@aashley_marie) September 17, 2021
NOTE: Konami Code in full effect against the Falcons.
Jared Goff
Goff has not been a bad fantasy producer this season at QB. He faces the Ravens who are a bottom 5 defense against the QB position in fantasy. Derek Carr lit them up for 435 yards and 2 touchdowns in the season opener. Look for Goff to pass the ball a lot and to give you some fantasy goodness in the process. He has 5 touchdowns and 584 yards in total the first two games of this season. He will throw and throw and throw some more.

Matthew Stafford
Do you need me to tell you to play Stafford? Probably not. But you might need me to tell you to pay up for him in DFS. The Buccaneers have given up a total of 703 yards in 5 TDs over the first two weeks of play. Stafford has thrown for multiple TDs and over 278 yards in each of the first two games. Yes, fantasy goodness prevails!

Running Backs
Dalvin Cook
The Seahawks have been the worst team against running backs so far this season. They give up an average 137 yards on the ground and another 94 through the air to running backs so far. Cook will do damage on the ground and in the air. I wouldn’t expect the Derrick Henry numbers of last week but Cook is a must-play in all formats, I am paying up in DFS.

Ty’Son Williams
The Detroit Lions have been pretty horrible to running backs in 2021. Luminaries like Eli Mitchell had 109 yards and a touchdown against them in Week 1. Aaron Jones went nuts on them in Week 2, scoring a total of 4 touchdowns. Williams has scored double-digit fantasy points in each of the first two weeks of the season. Play him.

Austin Ekeler
You know who is bad against the run? The Kansas City Chiefs are. They have given up an average of 130 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground and another 4 receptions for 30 yards through the air to running backs. Ekeler can produce both in both aspects of the game. This should be a great spot for Ekeler, I will pay up here too.

Wide Receivers
Michael Pittman Jr.
You know who is the worst team in the league at defending wide receivers? The Tennessee Titans. The titans have already given up 6 touchdowns to the position this year. Pittman had a whopping 39% target share in Week 2 which produced 8 receptions for 123 yards.

Tyler Lockett
You thought he was having a great year already. Well, he will be quite chalky but that is because he is playing the second-worst defense against wide receivers. The Vikings give up an average of 236 yards and 2.5 touchdowns to the position this season. D.K. Metcalf and Lockett will both be producing again in Week 3. Lockett and Metcalf each saw 11 targets, they have a combined 71 percent target share for Seattle in Week 2. Stacks galore for Seattle this week.

Cole Beasley
Sterling Shepard toasted the WFT last week for 9 receptions and 94 yards. In Week 1, Keenan Allen roasted the WFT for 9 catches and 100 yards. Both of these guys play the slot receiver for their respective teams, Cole Beasley plays the slot for the Bills. Are you picking up what I am putting down? Say 9 receptions and over 90 yards for Beasley. I love it.

Tight Ends

I know you don’t need me to tell you to play him. But you made need me to tell you that the Ravens have given up an average of 15 targets, 10 receptions, 122 yards, and a touchdown to the tight end position this season. Also, Hockenson averages 10 targets, 8 receptions 65 yards, and a touchdown a game. It continues in Week 3.

Kyle Pitts
Pitts had 5 receptions for 73 yards in Week 2. The Giants are the 4th worst defense against tight ends this season, averaging 8 receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown this season to the position. Luminaries such as Ricky Seals-Jones and Albert Okwuegbunam have scored TDs against the Giants this season from the TE position. This is the week Pitts really breaks out.

Maxx Williams
The Jaguars are a bottom 10 defense against tight ends. In Week 2, Maxx had a 19% target share for 7 receptions and 94 yards. I know the Cardinals spread it around but if you need a shot, this guy will give you a shot for a cheap play. Allowing you to pay up at other positions.

💔 Heart Breakers
Quarterbacks
Taylor Heinicke
Heinicke looked really good last week against the Giants but that wasn’t the Bills. The Bills defense is very stingy to the QB position so far this season. Quarterbacks average only 185 yards per game against them thus far. Sit him in all formats unless you need him
Patrick Mahomes
Mahomes is essentially a god and you are not sitting him in season long. But do not pay up for him in DFS. Last week, I had Dak Prescott as a heart breaker and I took some crap for it. Dak played against the Chargers last week. Now Mahomes plays against those same Chargers. He will probably produce but don’t be if he isn’t going for over 300 and 3 TDs this week, the Chargers defense is great against quarterbacks.
Teddy Bridgewater
Believe it or not the Jets have been pretty good against quarterbacks the first two weeks of the season. Teddy has been good for 2 TDs a game so far the Jets have only given up a single passing TD in the first two games. Sit him across the board.
Running Backs
Antonio Gibson
Gibson has been somewhat pedestrian the first two weeks of the season, and Week 3 he gets his toughest test facing a Bills defense giving up an average of 54 yards on the ground per week to running backs. Do not play in DFS!
Joe Mixon
In Week 2, Mixon played a defense that is tough against running backs in the Bear and he was just ok producing a total of 71 yards. In Week 3, Mixon gets to go up against a Steelers defense that is giving up an average of 54 yards on the ground to running backs per game. It doesn’t get easier. Play him in season-long do not in DFS.
Miles Sanders
The Dallas Cowboys allow a lot of yards through the air. The Dallas Cowboys allow the 9th fewest fantasy points to running backs. Sanders plays the Cowboys this week. I am sitting him where I have better options. He is a no-go in DFS.
Wide Receivers
CeeDee Lamb
The Eagles give up the fewest fantasy points to wide receivers after two weeks this season. The Cowboys play the Eagles in Week 2. Amari Cooper is doubtful for Week 3. The eagles will be able to key on Lamb. I am out on him in DFS Week 3
Tyreek Hill
The Ravens held this guy to 29 total yards in Week 2. The Chargers are also exceptionally good against wide receivers. Rough sledding for Hill again in Week 3. I am not paying up in DFS here, in season-long you better be playing him.
Brandin Cooks
I love Cooks. I have him rostered on many season-long teams and I have played him in DFS. He is just about a lock for 1000 yards this season. This week he plays against a Carolina defense that is the 6th best at covering his position. I’ll play him in season-long only.
Tight Ends
Jack Doyle
The Titans are the top defense against tight ends in the league. The Colts play the Titans in Week 3. Doyle played well in Week 2 but I expect the passes to go to the wide receivers. Doyle is a no-go.
Mike Gesicki
The Raiders give up the 6th fewest points to tight ends. Gesicki only has 3 receptions on 9 targets after the first 2 games. I am sitting him.
