In this weekly DFS article, The Undroppables goes over the top salaried players in both DraftKings and FanDuel to provide his take on who you should play and which players to avoid. Using this article to help construct your rosters, you will better understand who to pay up to win you some money.
Quarterbacks
Paying Up – C.J. Stroud vs. Arizona Cardinals (Ranked 24th vs. fantasy QBs)
DraftKings – $7,000
FanDuel – $8,000
Stroud has been on an absolute tear as of late. That is going to continue against a bad Cardinals defense. With Kyler back, the Cardinals will score some; Stroud will have to sling it! This price is too low.
Avoiding – Josh Allen vs. New York Jets (Ranked 7th vs. fantasy QBs)
DraftKings – $8,200
FanDuel – $9,000
Josh Allen loves giving the ball to the other team. The Jets give up nothing to fantasy quarterbacks. Not only is there no chance Allen will go into my DFS lineups, but I question starting him in redraft this week.
Running Backs
Paying Up – David Montogomery vs. Chicago Bears (Ranked 20th vs. fantasy RBs)
DraftKings – $6,500
FanDuel – $7,700
Revenge game!!! Montgomery will split more time with Jahmyr Gibbs, but it doesn’t matter. He is a touchdown machine and has a great offensive line to go against a terrible defense in the Bears this week.
Avoiding – Saquon Barkley @ Washington Commanders (Ranked 16th vs. fantasy RBs)
DraftKings – $7,100
FanDuel – $7,600
The Giants’ offense is a mess. Barkley is getting touches, but there’s nothing to do with them. Washington already has a good run defense and will be stacking the box. Barkley is way overpriced.
Wide Receivers
Paying Up – DeAndre Hopkins @ Jacksonville Jaguars (Ranked 19th vs. fantasy WRs)
DraftKings – $6,100
FanDuel – $6,700
Hopkins has found new life with Will Levis, and the Jaguars defense has been struggling. While I don’t expect another 3 TD games from Nuk, I hope to get a significant return on investment at that price tag.
Avoiding – Amari Cooper vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (Ranked 27th vs. fantasy WRs)
DraftKings – $6,200
FanDuel – $7,300
Browns starting a rookie QB against a defense that historically eats up rookie QBs. I expect a low-scoring game overall, and Cooper is entirely irrelevant.
