In this weekly DFS article, Abe (DFS_Docket) goes over the top salaried players in both DraftKings and Fanduel to provide his take on who you should play and which players to avoid. Using this article to help construct your rosters, you will better understand who to pay up to win you some money!
Quarterbacks
Paying Up – Josh Allen vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Draftkings – $7,900
Fanduel – $9,200
Josh Allen is a great fantasy asset! Don’t let one matchup against a tremendous defense that had his number fool you. I expect Allen to have a monster bounce-back game against a not-so-good pass defense. His price tag is high but well worth it this week. Plus the target is already on his back from the media and he’ll be looking to silence the doubters.
Avoiding – Dak Prescott vs. New York Jets
Draftkings – $6,600
Fanduel – $7,400
Despite Dallas putting up 40, Dak didn’t have his greatest game. Take that, plus the fact the Jets’ defense just made Josh Allen play at his worst (three interceptions and one fumble lost), and Dak is in line for a 3+ turnover matchup from Sauce and company.
Running Backs
Paying Up – Breece Hall @ Dallas Cowboys
Draftkings – $5,800
Fanduel – $6,900
This price is way too low for a superstar player. Despite splitting touches (which will only increase) and having a tough matchup, Breece Hall is a bonafide star, and you’ll never get him at this price again.
Avoiding – James Conner vs. New York Giants
Draftkings – $6,200
Fanduel – $6,400
Yes, the Giants looked like garbage in Week 1. But the Cardinals are also clearly in full tank mode. There is no better time than now for a Giants defensive rebound game.
Wide Receivers
Paying Up – Tee Higgins vs. Baltimore Ravens
Draftkings – $6,400
Fanduel – $7,000
Week 1’s goose egg is misleading. Burrow is still recovering from a calf injury, and the weather was atrocious in Cleveland. Higgins still had 8 targets in the game. I’m expecting similar targets but with better production and a relatively low price this week.
Avoiding – Davante Adams @ Buffalo Bills
Draftkings – $7,600
Fanduel – $7,500
Please don’t hear what I’m not saying. You are starting Adams in all of your redraft/dynasty leagues. But Adams is still adjusting to Jimmy G, and a tough matchup makes his price tag too high for me this week for DFS play.
