In this weekly DFS article, The Undroppables goes over the top salaried players in both DraftKings and FanDuel to provide his take on who you should play and which players to avoid. Using this article to help construct your rosters, you will better understand who to pay up to win you some money.
Quarterbacks
Paying Up – Dak Prescott @ Philadelphia Eagles (Ranked 29th vs. fantasy QBs)
DraftKings – $6,500
FanDuel – $8,200
Facing a formidable division opponent, Dak is set to put up another top QB finish this week. The Eagle’s defense has given up points to opposing QBs, and Dak is coming off a top finish in Week 8. I would look to start Dak in your lineups and pair him with CeeDee Lamb if able. Maybe even Brandin Cooks for a cheaper option.
Avoiding – Geno Smith @ Baltimore Ravens (Ranked 1st vs. fantasy QBs)
DraftKings – $6,000
FanDuel – $6,600
Falling short of what Geno did in 2022, he has had a rough start to his 2023 campaign. With the Ravens’ defense being the best against fantasy QBs, I would look to not start him this week in lineups. There are much better options if you decide to go cheaper.
Running Backs
Paying Up – Saquon Barkley @ Las Vegas Raiders (Ranked 28th vs. fantasy RBs)
DraftKings – $7,900
FanDuel – $8,600
He is the vocal point for this offense, coming off a 36-rushing attempt game in Week 8 against a stout defense. Saquon now goes against the porous run defense of the Raiders; he should have a few big runs and a potential touchdown in this matchup. Get him in your lineups!
Avoiding – Devin Singletary vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Ranked 4th vs. fantasy RBs)
DraftKings – $4,300
FanDuel – $5,300
With Dameon Pierce ruled out and Devin having such a low price tag, I imagine everyone will be looking to put him in their lineups. He will be a chalky play, and potentially, this can be a big CJ Stroud game and not from the running back. He will get some passes, so there is some upside, but I am nervous that his projected rostership will make him challenging to win with.
Wide Receivers
Paying Up – CeeDee Lamb @ Philadelphia Eagles (Ranked 32nd vs. fantasy WRs)
DraftKings – $8,200
FanDuel – $8,800
For the same reason we are starting Dak, I want CeeDee in my lineups. He is coming off his best season finish and gets to go against the league’s worst fantasy WRs. Pay up for him; he will win you some money!
Avoiding – Cooper Kupp/Puka Nacua @ Green Bay Packers (Ranked 10th vs. fantasy WRs)
DraftKings – $8,500/$7,400
FanDuel – $8,700/$7,500
With Matthew Stafford as a game-time decision and Brett Rypien as the backup, I am nervous to start either of these WRs in my lineup. It was against a tough defense in Week 8, and Green Bay has done well against wide receivers this season, too. I would look for other options in my lineup.
