The Flex Factor | Week 9

Figuring out your flex spots can be the difference between winning and losing your weekly matchup. In this weekly series presented by Flex Fantasy, we’ll look at sleeper running backs and wide receivers outside the consensus top 50 who you should be considering in your lineups.

Tyler Lockett

Although Lockett has been mildly inconsistent in PPR scoring this year, making him a low-end WR3, he’s still been a reliable target. One of the veteran WR’s biggest games came last week where Lockett caught 8 passes for 81 yards and a score. As we hit more bye weeks, players who have seen at least 5 targets every week since Week 2 are worth a look. Lockett is nursing a hamstring injury so make sure to monitor practice reports leading up to kickoff but if he’s active, play him.

Tank Dell

Tank Dell had a minimal impact in the Panthers’ Week 8 loss and hasn’t seen at least 7 targets since Week 3 (after getting 17 targets in a two-week span). With teammate Robert Woods set to miss the next few games, the rookie has another opportunity to get back into the flex conversation and it should start in Week 9. It’s an average matchup against the Bucs but the Texans will have to lean on someone in the passing game so expect Dell (and Dalton Schultz) to have passes funneled their way.
