Accountability Check – Week 4 Finishes
Taylor Heinicke – QB5
Jacoby Brissett – QB25
Pat Freiermuth – TE44
Cole Kmet – TE52
Tennessee – DST18
Cincinnati – DST25
Green Bay – DST9
Let’s review, Tight Ends are as we expected. If either of them catches a TD, we are happy but fell short of where we want to be. My previous week’s picks of Dan Arnold and Maxx Williams however are starting to pay off so maybe I am just a week too early?
It’s the last week before the dread bye weeks kick in, so time to start hitting on some of these streamers as our options will start getting narrower with everyone picking up players to fill in gaps if they don’t have deep benches already.
Quarterbacks
Zach Wilson vs Atlanta Falcons (London)
Yahoo Rostership: 9%
Opposition Rank vs QB: 3rd
This might be the biggest dart throw for the season yet. Zach Wilson is coming off his best performance with 297 passing yards and 2 TDs and he gets one of the easier matchups of the season. The addition of Jamison Crowder proved to be a great addition and Wilson hit some amazing throws. Potential high scoring game and neutral field since this game will be played in London.
Atlanta continues to be a pass funneled defense, giving up another monster game last week to our streamer pick of Taylor Heinicke. I see this being a shootout again and the Falcons have yet to slow anyone done in the passing game.
Mac Jones @ Houston Texans
Yahoo Rostership: 18%
Opposition Rank vs QB: 6th
Going with another rookie QB, Mac Jones looked poised in a big primetime game last Sunday Night. I think Mac will be good for around 280 passing yards and 2 TDs against the Houston Texans. One factor going into this, Texans are near league-worst on defending against Tight Ends and Patriots have Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry. Look for the Patriots to attack that defense with those Tight Ends.
Coming off a 40-0 loss to the Bills, I don’t see how the Texans will be able to compete in this game. The defense we will look to target often as the season goes on.
Tight Ends
Cameron Brate vs Miami Dolphins
Yahoo Rostership: 16%
Opposition Rank vs TE: 9th
Looking like Rob Gronkowski will be out one more week, Buccaneers go up against the Miami Dolphins in Week 5. Brate should be the top Tight End option again, getting 6 targets compared to the 1 for O.J. Howard in Week 4. There are several options in this passing offense, but Tom Brady is truly one of the best and will look at last week’s film as a blueprint for the RedZone offense.
Miami Dolphins have gone up against some of the best this year in Tight Ends, including Darren Waller and Dawson Knox, but they continue to give up around 5 receptions for around 50 yards to the position overall each game. With a potential Touchdown, that’s a top finish in my books.
Hunter Henry @ Houston Texans
Yahoo Rostership: 42%
Opposition Rank vs TE: 2nd
Preluded this with my streamer pick at QB, but Hunter Henry has been getting more and more involved with this offense. Continuing to out snap Jonnu Smith, I think this is the week that Hunter overtakes Jonnu as the top Tight End option in this offense.
Defense/Special Teams
Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions
Yahoo Rostership: 42%
Opposition Rank vs D/ST: 9th
Tough division game and both looking to turn their seasons around, I expect this one to be a low-scoring affair. With Vikings coming off a performance of holding the Browns to just 14 points, I expect Zimmer to have the same game plan and stifle Lion’s offense in this game.
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants
Yahoo Rostership: 41%
Opposition Rank vs D/ST: 13th
The Dallas Cowboys defense has been a turnover machine, earning 2 interceptions each week so far this season. Coming off of a 5-sack performance as well to the red-hot Carolina Panthers, this defense is starting to become a real contender. Oh, and they get to play against one of the most turnover-prone quarterbacks in Daniel Jones. This could be a very fun division match to watch.
