The Stream Option (Fantasy Football 2021 – Week 6)

Accountability Check – Week 5 Finishes

Zach Wilson – QB30
Mac Jones – QB24
Cameron Brate – TE51
Hunter Henry – TE5
Minnesota Vikings – DST5
Dallas Cowboys – DST4

I guess 3 out of 6 is an improvement, right?! I am getting pretty good at picking my D/ST each week and the Hunter Henry pick was not only correct but the usage call of him becoming the featured Tight End in the audience was definitely shown. All those Buccaneer’s points but none went to Brate and gambling on the Rookie QBs were too risky.

With the bye weeks and injuries starting to add up, let’s get into our streaming options for Week 6. I will stake a claim, that I will pick a QB that finishes in the Top 12 this week. Not sure what I will do if I don’t, I guess someone comment on social media if they got a fun punishment I can do if I fall short.

Notable Bye Week Teams

Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Jets

Quarterbacks

Carson Wentz vs Houston Texans

Yahoo Rostership: 14%
Opposition Rank vs QB: 10th

The same recipe as last week, Houston still allowing massive points to the Tight End position and the Colts have some weapons at that position. With Wentz getting comfortable in the offense and hitting over 400 yards against the Ravens on Monday Night Football, I like to have him finish in the Top 12 this week.

Hard division game between the Colts and Texans, look for the Colts to pull out all the stops in beating the Texans and I think it will work. The Houston Texans played tough against the Patriots but things change drastically when it’s division rivals.

Ben Roethlisberger vs Seattle Seahawks

Yahoo Rostership: 23%
Opposition Rank vs QB: 12th

Big Ben going against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, a primetime game for Ben to show the world he can still compete. Seahawks are down Russell Wilson, and the Seahawk’s defense has shown to be suspect to the pass, allowing over 320 passing yards in the past 5 weeks. Ben may have lost Juju Smith-Schuster for the season, but that offense runs through Diontae Johnson, Najee Harris, and Chase Claypool so it should still be great.

Tight Ends

Dan Arnold vs Miami Dolphins (London)

Yahoo Rostership: 4%
Opposition Rank vs TE: 12th

Urban Meyer and featuring the Tight End, name a more iconic duo. In his first “full” week as a Jaguar, Dan Arnold had 73% of the snaps and finished with 8 targets with 6 receptions for 68 yards. That was the TE10 last week in Full PPR leagues. It’s not really a testament to Dan, but rather how bad the position has been this season. It’s definitely in a realm of possibility to have Miami start to show their strong defense this week, but I still feel confident Dan will be featured and Kyle Pitts/George Kittle owners need someone for the bye week this week.

Zach Ertz vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Yahoo Rostership: 37%
Opposition Rank vs TE: 8th

On a short week and Dallas Goedert being put on the Reserve/COVID List, Zach Ertz will get the primary Tight End snaps in this Thursday Night matchup. The Buccaneers have given up some points to the position and we all know Zach can be a focal point in the passing offense. His two best finishes this year came again Dallas and Kansas City.  Looks for Ertz to have a monster week, especially trying to be featured with the upcoming trade deadline on the horizon.

Defense/Special Teams

Cincinnati Bengals @ Detroit Lions

Yahoo Rostership: 10%
Opposition Rank vs D/ST: 7th

Cincinnati has yet to allow over 25 points, coming against the Packers that won on an FG in OT.  The Bengals’ defense has been surprisingly good this season and gets to play against an offense that hasn’t scored over 17 points since Week 1. Look for 3+ sacks and a couple of turnovers in this one for the Bengals Defense.

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears

Yahoo Rostership: 26%
Opposition Rank vs D/ST: 9th

Despite picking two road teams for my D/ST picks this week, the Packers defense gets a juicy matchup against a division rival that is starting a rookie QB. Their pass rush is heating up with 2+ sacks in each of the last 3 weeks and 2 turnovers in each of the last 4 weeks. I can see this being a lower-scoring game, look for most of the points to be on the Packers side of the scoreboard.

I was asked to join a fantasy football league in High School and I haven't been the same since. I love the competitive nature, the communities it builds, and the thinking and content that can be created. I am hoping to connect to larger audiences in helping them grow into becoming knowledgable managers and I am open to discussions.
