Accountability Check – Week 11
Jeremy McNichols – Out (Injured)
T.Y. Hilton – 41% Snaps, WR64
Baltimore Ravens D/ST – DST10
Courtland Sutton – Bye Week
With one of my suggestions on bye and another injured, not much to update on my picks for being sent back to the waiver wire. The Ravens defense got to feast on a poor Chicago Bears offense, but I still suggest cutting them loose. Looking at the remainder of their schedule doesn’t seem great to start them in any of the weeks. Hilton proving me right, even if it was a negative game script for throwing the ball. There must be a better option on your waiver wire than starting T.Y. Hilton.
Now the chaos has been in full swing, let’s see if we can help mitigate some of it by looking at the players I am recommending that you send back to the waiver wire.
Nyheim Hines (RB – Indianapolis Colts)
Yahoo Rostership: 59%
Full PPR Rankings: RB40
Last 5 Snap Trend: 28% → 31% → 45% → 28% → 19%
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 54 → 47 → 5 → 48 → 46
Thankfully the Colts made sure to lock up Hines with a big contract in the offseason, right? With the GENERATIONAL talent of Jonathan Taylor, Hines has been left with only one RB12 finish this season. He has struggled to see the field and I don’t see the Colts using anyone else besides Taylor going forward.
Jarvis Landry (WR – Cleveland Browns)
Yahoo Rostership: 74%
Full PPR Rankings: WR77
Last 5 Snap Trend: 54% → 90% → 67% → 80% → 65%
Last 5 Target Trend: 24% → 32% → 24% → 15% → 28%
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 41 → 39 → 70 → 50→ 25
With Jarvis not fully healthy and Baker far from it, it looks like Landry will be capped on his weekly scoring. This team will still be a run-first team that hopes to rely on its defense to help keep the scores low. When they have passed, it’s been to the Tight Ends and Running Backs with deep shots to others. Landry is not startable, but you will be hard press to find someone better on the waiver wire when he is healthy.
Jared Cook (TE – Los Angeles Chargers)
Yahoo Rostership: 53%
Full PPR Rankings: TE19
Last 5 Snap Trend: 64% → 55% → 42% → 58% → 50%
Last 5 Target Trend: 18% → 14% → 11% → 9% → 12%
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 11 → 29 → 11→ 42 → 25
With the landscape of Tight Ends this season, Jared Cook may not have the option to be cut from your roster. There needs to be a discussion however on his being startable in your roster. With Donald Parham and Stephen Anderson taking away looks in the red zone, this severely caps how much Jared Cook can have each week. The team has focused the passing game on Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen as well, so even more reason to question if he should be on your roster or not.
Slow Drainers
Listing another player here that I personally really like but am starting to hate the coaching staff more and more. Remember, this is advising to drop the player but to monitor their next week’s usage.
Zack Moss (RB – Buffalo Bills)
Yahoo Rostership: 81%
Full PPR Rankings: RB34
Last 5 Snap Trend: 55% → 64% → 28% → 48% → 29%
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 40 → 25 → 51 → 32 → 68
Always nice to have a running back on a top offense, but not in this case. The Bills offense runs through Josh Allen and the passing game. Zack fell into the end zone against the New York Jets, as all running backs have done this season, and hasn’t done much else in the space of the last 6 weeks. Some receiving work in games when Devin Singletary wasn’t available but not Matt Brieda is taking over some of the receiving work. No upside with Zack Moss and all goal-line work goes to Josh Allen. The rest of the season looks tough as well for matchups.
