Unclogging Your Roster (Fantasy Football 2021 – Week 13)

ACCOUNTABILITY CHECK – WEEK 12

Nyheim Hines – 36% Snaps, RB52
Jarvis Landry – 93% Snaps, WR21
Jared Cook – 52% Snaps, TE13
Zack Moss – NR (Healthy Inactive)

Zack Moss was a healthy inactive in Week 12 and as I mentioned, Matt Brieda taking over that lead running back role in Buffalo.  Hines has not lived up to the contract he signed in the offseason and Jared Cook scoring a touchdown saved his week.  The only player that came alive was Jarvis Landry and that could just be the matchup he went against, with Baltimore defense giving up big chunk plays in the passing game each week.

Playoffs are around the corner, lets see if we can unclog that depth for one more week and look to get

RYAN TANNEHILL (QB – TENNESSEE TITANS)

Yahoo Rostership: 78%
Full PPR Rankings: QB13
Last 5 Completion % Trend: 69.7% → 70.37% → 70.37% → 67.31% → 52.38%
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 7 → 17 → 8 → 17 → 29

Easy decision with a bye week in Week 13, but Tannehill shouldn’t be started for the rest of the season.  He gets maybe one more week against Jacksonville in Week 14 but for fantasy playoffs, he goes against Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, and then the resurgent Miami Dolphins. I would not trust him in the fantasy playoffs if you are looking for a QB to take you to the ship this year.

JEFF WILSON JR. (RB – SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS)

Yahoo Rostership: 45%
Full PPR Rankings: RB108
Last 3 Snap Trend: 32% → 58% → 14%
Last 3 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 54 → 32 → 69

The IR stash on Jeff Wilson has not paid off for the people that did.  This backfield is run through Elijah Mitchell and that is all for now.  Pending injuries, Jeff Wilson should not be started and could be a drop candidate if you are needing to load up for the fantasy playoffs.

MATT RYAN (QB – ATLANTA FALCONS)

Yahoo Rostership: 47%
Full PPR Rankings: QB20
Last 5 Completion % Trend: 74.07% → 76.67 % → 42.86% → 67.86% → 65.52%
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 31 → 3 → 33 → 29 → 24

Been an up and down season for the former MVP, Matty Ice is probably going to need to be chilled for the fantasy playoffs.  With only eclipsing 200 passing yards once in the past 5 games, the aerial attack of the Falcons has been non-existent.  On top of that, Matt will face the Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills in the next 4 weeks.  It would be very tough to start the QB with limited receiving options as well.

SLOW DRAINERS

Listing another player here that I personally really like but am starting to hate the coaching staff more and more. Remember, this is advising to drop the player but to monitor their next week’s usage.

MARVIN JONES (WR – JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS)

Yahoo Rostership: 64%
Full PPR Rankings: WR39
Last 5 Snap Trend: 91% → 84% → 85% → 91% → 97%
Last 5 Target Trend: 15% → 19% → 17% → 24% → 17%
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 55 → 62 → 54 → 41 → 45

Tough to cut a good WR1 on any team but looking at the usage for Jacksonville there just isn’t much going on.  Marvin has been stuck on a bad passing team with a rookie QB that hasn’t lived up to the draft capital in this season. Monitor the next couple of weeks but keep in mind that the playoff schedule is kind of nice with Houston Texans and New York Jets.  Championship week is New England however and they get the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13.

I was asked to join a fantasy football league in High School and I haven't been the same since. I love the competitive nature, the communities it builds, and the thinking and content that can be created. I am hoping to connect to larger audiences in helping them grow into becoming knowledgable managers and I am open to discussions.
