Accountability Check – Week 13
Ryan Tannehill – Bye Week
Jeff Wilson Jr. – 3% Snaps, RB66
Matt Ryan – 73.17% Completion Rate, QB22
Marvin Jones Jr. – 83% Snaps, WR71
Jeff Wilson only saw two snaps for the whole game, this is definitely all Elijah Mitchell’s backfield. Marvin Jones is a victim to the atrocity of the Jaguars’ passing attack this season, he deserves so much better. Matt Ryan broke his streak by throwing 297 passing yards but no touchdowns this game.
This will be my last Unclogging Your Roster article for the season. Excited that I got the opportunity this year to contribute something unique to the website, looking forward to coming up with more content. Let’s see if we can make sure your roster is locked and loaded for the ship run you are about to go on!
Carson Wentz (QB – Indianapolis Colts)
Yahoo Rostership: 70%
ESPN Rostership: 54%
Full PPR Rankings: QB11
Last 5 QB Rating Trend: 134.3 → 78.1 → 86.7 → 86.0 → 107.8
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 5 → 24 → 20 → 5 → 23
Strange to suggest cutting a quarterback in the top twelve, but I think I am correct in this. You most likely were riding his high where it led him to those high finishes but this team has changed to mostly a running team and looking at the playoff schedule (New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, and Las Vegas Raiders) those are some tough matchups for QBs this season. Look to Mike Reedy’s Waiver Wire to help sort out some good quarterback options for the playoffs.
Rashod Bateman (WR – Baltimore Ravens)
Yahoo Rostership: 51%
ESPN Rostership: 39%
Full PPR Rankings: WR89
Last 5 Snap Trend: 66% → 55% → 70% → 44% → 45%
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 33 → 21 → 59 → 52 → 106
Looking like the loaded receiving corp for the Baltimore Ravens has their rookie being the odd man out. In the last two weeks with Sammy Watkins healthy, you see him and Rashod splitting the snaps while Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews continue to be the featured passing attack. With the playoff schedule not being favorable and the offense still not figuring out how to handle heavy blitz’s, look to drop Rashod if you are needing a roster spot.
Younghoe Koo (K – Atlanta Falcons)
Yahoo Rostership: 46%
ESPN Rostership: 42%
Full PPR Rankings: K23
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 14 → 24 → 31 → 22 → 19
I tried to make it all season to not have a kicker on this series, but I have run out of players in skill positions and this may help you decide on finding a kicker for the playoffs. Younghoe Koo was a top drafted kicker in the offseason but the offense just hasn’t been scoring many points this year. Barely averaging a field goal, a game (16 field goals made over 13 games), you just can’t rely on him to put up points and you will need every point possible in the playoffs. Look elsewhere if your league still uses kickers.
Slow Drainers
Listing another player here that I personally really like but am starting to hate the coaching staff more and more. Remember, this is advising to drop the player but to monitor their next week’s usage.
Jalen Hurts (QB – Philadelphia Eagles)
Yahoo Rostership: 95%
ESPN Rostership: 96%
Full PPR Rankings: QB2
Last 5 QB Rating Trend: 86.3 → 115.3 → 103.2→ 72.7 → 17.5
Last 5 Positional Weekly Finishes (PPR): 25 → 12 → 6 → 3 → 27
I will not be advising you to cut Jalen Hurts. Please hear me out though, with how well Gardner Minshew played while Jalen was out and they will have a bye week in Week 14…there could be a change coming to monitor in Philly. If Gardner does get the starting job the rest of the way, Jalen will be a nice roster stash but the playoffs look fantastic for whoever does start for the Eagles.
