There were some interesting events this past weekend in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers missed Week 9 with Covid 19, and Jordan Love reminded us of why Rodgers is good. No one was loving Love in Week 9. The Browns waived Odell Beckham Jr. and the passing game got better – yes it got better. But one of the most shocking achievements for me was the Titans without Derrick Henry handily beat the Rams in Week 9. Its shocking.
Wait, what is this article about anyways? Yeah, this is the waiver wire one, right? OK, lets get back on track here. In Week 10 the following teams will be on a bye week:
- Chicago Bears
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Houston Texans
- New York Giants
You are probably looking for some help as players like JaMaar Chase and Brandin Cooks will be out. Well, here is where you can find them. Let’s get to it!
NOTE: If you are new around here this column refers to players rostered in under 50% of Yahoo, ESPN, and Sleeper Leagues.
Quarterbacks
Teddy Bridgewater
In Week 9, Teddy had 249 passing yards and a passing touchdown and rushed for another against the Cowboys. With all the offensive weapons back on the field, the Broncos look like they have an offense that can do some damage. The Eagles are up next.

Matt Ryan
Ryan was dropped in a lot of leagues after his subpar performance in week 7. In week 8 Matty Ice ran up against a top-tier defense in the Saints and responded with 349 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns and another rushing. The Falcon’s offense was moving the ball and with the schedule being friendly for Ryan, I would add him if he is out there.

Other quarterbacks to consider if you are desperate: Jimmy Garoppolo, Trevor Siemian
Running Backs
Devonta Freeman
I don’t especially love the multi-headed running back by committee in Baltimore. But if I were going to choose one to add it would be Freeman. He has 3 straight weeks of double-digit fantasy points. Miami is next on the schedule. I like Freeman if you are hurting at running back.

Jordan Howard
Activated for Week 8 and played an integral role in both Weeks 8 and 9 for the Eagles. Howard has 3 touchdowns in the past two weeks. Howard led the team in running back touches in Week 9 with 17 for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Brandon Bolden
Bolden had 10 total touches resulting in 81 total yards for both rushing and receiving. Both Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson left the Week 9 game with potential head injuries. Bolden would be in a nice spot in Week 10 against the Browns. Stevenson is also a potential add if healthy.

Ty Johnson
He has scored over 10 fantasy points in .5 PPR for four straight games now. In Week 9 Ty had only 6 touches which he turned into 62 yards and a touchdown. The volume isn’t high but the consistent usage is.

Other running backs to consider: Eno Benjamin, Sony Michel
Wide Receivers
Elijah Moore
In the past three games, he has seen the following number of targets: 6, 6, and 8. In Week 9 Moore turned the 8 targets into 7 receptions for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns. He played 60 percent of the snaps as well.

Donovan Peoples-Jones
He had only 2 receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown in Week 9. But DPJ is the Browns’ deep threat and Mayfield has proven he can hit him with the deep ball in stride. The schedule is pretty tough but Peoples-Jones may be worth the pick-up if you need some bye week help at wide receiver.

Rashod Bateman
His target share is rising, and he is the third option in the passing game for the Ravens. He was in on 66% of the snaps in Week 9 which was the second-highest behind only Marquise Brown at wide receiver for the Ravens. The time to add Bateman is now.

Tight Ends
Evan Engram
He is still out there in 60% of the leagues. Engram has a touchdown in each of the past two weeks. He is getting a steady target share and a target in the red zone. Not sure if you can ask for more than that from a tight end now.

Dan Arnold
I mentioned him here last week as Arnold saw 10 targets and turned that into 8 receptions for 68 yards in Week 8. Well, in Week 9 Arnold had another 7 targets for 4 receptions and 60 yards. The target volume is there. In Week 9 he will go up against a Colts defense which gives up the 8th most fantasy points to tight ends
