Untangling the Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football 2021 – Week 11)

There were some guys off the wire really producing big time in week 10. Hopefully, you made a few moves on Friday and Saturday adding guys like Rhamondre Stevenson and Mark Ingram then. If you didn’t you probably need to follow me on Twitter.

Teams on bye in week 11:

  • Denver Broncos
  • Los Angeles Rams

You will need to replace players like Cooper Kupp, Matthew Stafford, Melvin Gordon, Noah Fant, Darrell Henderson, and Jevonte Williams in your lineups. We have you covered below.

NOTE: If you are new around here this column refers to players rostered in under 50% of Yahoo, ESPN, and Sleeper Leagues.

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa

Tua came in to relieve the injured Brissett. He threw for 158 yards and rushed for a touchdown with his injured hand. Next up for the Dolphins is the Jets. It’s a pretty nice match up and Tua will produce nicely.

Justin Fields

Fields is coming into his own he had 291 yards and touchdown passing and another 45 yards rushing in week 9. The match-up is pretty nice against the Ravens in week 11 followed by the Lions in week 12. I am shocked I am recommending him but if you need a bye week fill-in he may be the guy.

Other quarterbacks to consider if you are desperate: Cam Newton, Taysom Hill, Mac Jones

NOTE: Cam Newton and Taysom Hill both appear to be in line to take over at some point for their teams at quarterback. Both guys are big strong running quarterbacks that can be very useful on your fantasy team. I am really hoping Hill will take over for the Saints soon.

Running Backs

Rhamondre Stevenson

Stevenson stepped in as the lead back for the Patriots and delivered in a huge way. Just look at this stat line. With 20 carries for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns rushing and 5 targets for 4 receptions and 14 yards receiving. Boom Shacka Lacka, he is the Chief Rocka for week 10. Even when Harris is back in the lineup Stevenson will be utilized to some extent now.

D’Onta Foreman

Lead back for the Titans was not Adrian Peterson or Jeremy McNichols, it was Foreman. He led the backfield in snaps (21), rushing yards (30), and receiving (48 yards). Foreman is the best back on the Titans right now, it is actually that simple sometimes.

Other running backs to consider: Wayne Gallman, Brandon Bolden, Jermar Jefferson, Matt Breida

Wide Receivers

DeAndre Carter

Carter has 6 targets and over 50 yards and a touchdown in each of his past 2 games. In Week 10, DeAndre was second on the team with targets with a 19% target share. His snap percentage has also gone up in the past two games to 70% in week 8 and 67% in week 10 with 49 snaps in each game. Carter is part of this offense now, if you are wide receiver needy give him an add.

Darnell Mooney

Coming off his Week 10 Bye, Darnell has over 80% of the snaps in every game and a 21% target share. His quarterback is starting to play better and the schedule is pretty easy for the rest of the season. If available I would roster him now.

Other wide receivers to consider: Kendrick Bourne, Bryan Edwards, Deonte Harris

Tight Ends

Dan Arnold

Dan finds himself here for the third week in a row. He has a total of 24 targets (20% target share) in the last 3 games. He has surpassed 60 yards in each of those games. I don’t know what else Arnold has to do to get recognized as a viable TE1 play. He seems to keep getting targets and yards.

Evan Engram

Another guy I had here last week is Engram. He is available in 68% of leagues coming off his week 10 bye. The schedule couldn’t be any easier for him, quite literally the easiest tight end schedule for the rest of the season. He has a touchdown in each of his last two games. Engram looks like someone that can help you through the stretch run.

Tyler Conklin

Conklin is heavily involved in the Vikings’ passing game. The Vikings have a consolidated passing tree. In Week 10 Conklin had only 3 receptions for 11 yards and two touchdowns. But in each of the previous two games, he had 7 targets and 5 receptions with a total of 102 yards combined in those games. Not a bad tight end play as we move forward at all.
