Untangling the Waiver Wire (Fantasy Football 2021 – Week 15)

The fantasy playoffs are here. That means we are all looking for some potential league winners and I think you have them here. I listed who I think are great additions to any team looking to win a championship with their playoff schedules.

I will throw it out there, even if you don’t need one of the players listed in this article you may want to add them if you are not dropping anyone valuable just to keep them from the competition.

Good luck in the playoffs!

NOTE: If you are new around here this column refers to players rostered in under 50% of Yahoo, ESPN, and Sleeper Leagues.

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa

Tua last three weeks has thrown for 5 touchdowns.  He hasn’t been crazy with the yards with a high of 273 in that span but Tua has simply been producing. I am loving him in the fantasy playoffs if you were streaming QBs all season.

Fantasy Playoff: Jets (bottom 15 team against quarterbacks), Saint (bottom 5), and Titans (second-worst against quarterbacks). You have to like that schedule.

Taysom Hill

Hill threw for only 175 yards on 21 attempts in Week 14, but he ran for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns on 11 carries. It is the second week in a row that he has had 11 carries. At the time of writing this article, he was the QB4 for the week, ensuring he will have yet another top 10 QB finish. Give me Hill, give me Championships!

His fantasy playoff schedule is Buccaneers (bottom 9), Dolphins (Bottom 8), and finishing championship week with the Panthers.

Other quarterbacks to consider if you are desperate: Jimmy Garoppolo, Teddy Bridgewater

Running Backs

Rashaad Penny

Wait, who? Rashaad Penny? Isn’t he the guy we thought was going to take off a few years ago? Yes, it is the same guy Chris Carson has been holding off for a long time. Well, Penny had the Seattle backfield essentially to himself in Week 14 and he produced big time. Rushing 16 times for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. He had a 57% snap share so it looks like he is entrenched as the guy there for the playoff run. He could be THE league winner.

Fantasy playoff schedule: Rams, Bears, Lions (Bottom 3)

Wide Receivers

Amon-Ra St Brown

In the past two weeks, Amon-Ra has had 24 targets, 18 receptions, 159 yards, and 1 touchdown. He has seen 12 targets in each game. 31% target share in Week 14. This guy has taken over as the number 1 wide receiver for the Lions. His schedule in the playoff is just ok but the Lions will be throwing the ball

Fantasy playoff schedule: Cardinals, Falcons (bottom 7), Seahawks

Kendrick Bourne

Bourne has been a top 25 wide receiver for the season so far. For the Patriots he leads them in receiving yards, second in receptions and second in receiving touchdowns. His route running skills have made him a favorite of Mac Jones in the red sone with Hunter Henry.

Fantasy playoff schedule: Colts, Bills, Jaguars (Bottom 8)

Other wide receivers to consider: DeVante Parker, Tyler Boyd

Tight Ends

Austin Hooper

In Week 14 with David Njoku out Hooper saw 7 targets for 5 receptions 30 yards and a touchdown. Good for 22% target share while playing 100% of the snaps. We know Baker Mayfield likes to throw to his tight ends, Hooper is now THE tight end. Add him if you need a TE for the playoffs.

Fantasy playoff schedule: Raiders (Bottom 2), Packers, Steelers

39% rostered on Sleeper
15% Free Agent Budget

Other tight ends to consider: Brevin Jordan
